How to Get There
We stayed at Firenze Number Nine at the beginning and end of our trip - like bookends to our incredible experiences in Italy. When we first arrived in Florence we were warmly welcomed and settled into our beautiful suite. The staff had already been so accommodating and resourceful via email in helping us meet our needs and desires prior to our stay, and when we arrived they made us feel right at home. From the fitness center, spa, and beautiful rooms (with great showers!) to a well appointed breakfast with so many delicious options, happy hour and an incredibly lovely staff, we were truly taken well care of. The hotel is so conveniently located we could walk every where easily, even right to the Tram and train stations. And the airport is just a quick ride away - no taxis, no rental car; such a breeze. After a week of traveling to other Italian destinations we made our way back to Florence and spent our last night with Firenze Number Nine once again. I was thrilled to feel the same sense homecoming when we arrived back in the city. The staff remembered us, welcomed us and made us feel at home again. I felt such a sense of ease and I am looking forward to our next trip already! I really can't say enough great things about our experience, but it was the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff that really made a positive impression on us.
We stayed in actual castles during our trip on Tuscany, but it was in this hotel that we felt like in one!
We stayed for a weekend with our 2 kids, aged 1 and 4, and the price was not that cheap, but my wife woke up one morning and told me "i feel like we are on a manssion!" so that made everything worth it.
The front desk staff, the lobby area and the restaurant staff were really nice. We waited for about 30 minutes in their seating area for our room to be ready and the area is so pretty that we actually enjoyed it.
The spa is very nice, i enjoyed a quiet early morning there away from the kids...
Breakfast was superb, their coffee was really good.
Then the room itself: it was huge, elegant and lighting was perfect, the kids had a great time playing there and we had a great time resting there during noon when it got too hot to be outside (we stayed in august during a heat wave).
Bathroom was very nice and big, and everything about the decoration in the hotel felt right.
I was a little bit afraid of staying in a "wellness" hotel with toddlers, but i never felt out of place, and the kids loved it! The staff was really nice and accomodating to them.
The duomo is a block away, and this location was perfect for us, we never took a taxi, just walked with our strollers everywhere. Shopping was right there so i would just go back to the room and leave everything there instead of carrying it around town.
They have a nice place outside of Florence with a pool, but we did not go... but just the option of having that was amazing, try to go to the Antinori vineyards if you can!
We will be back for sure, but next time without kids!
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large with beautiful wood floors and a supremely comfortable and large bed. Beautiful bathroom as well. Also our room had windows that opened to a view of the street below, and the Medici Chapel. All the employees were extremely kind and so helpful. Also had a great morning breakfast available with all sorts of pastries, cheese, yogurt, eggs, etc. Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel.
