Just returned from 6 days at RWI with the wife, daughter and her BF. Loved almost everything about it. As others have said, very low key place, beautiful grounds, mostly friendly staff, nice rooms, good bar, really fun theme dinners on Wednesday and Friday, etc. Best staff were the ladies at the front desk and Y-Jay behind the bar. Worst was the surly shorter bartender who I avoided at all costs, and that’s saying something for me, and one of the cleaning women who was downright nasty. Casino is right next door - kind of dumpy, but fun.

If you’re looking for a place to chill, you’ve found it. Way less expensive than you would think. I would return in a heartbeat.

Returned to Paradise
Reviewed 6 days ago

Just returned from 10 days at RWI. This was our second visit...that says a lot that we returned. A perfect, laid back trip to paradise. From the front desk to the bartenders to the beach guys to the gardeners everyone was so, so friendly and accommodating! This boutique resort is beautifully landscaped on the most amazing beach in the world. We loved everything about RWI! The daily happy hour from 5-7 is the best on the island. Stores and restaurants are walkable, they have bikes but if you want the whole Provo/Grace Bay experience, rent a car and see the entire island. Snorkeling at Coral Gardens, the Thursday night fish fry(go early) Da Conch Shack and visits to Taylor Bay Beach and Sapodilla Bay Beach are highlights. We even walked 5 minutes up the beach to two most opposite beach bars...Rickies Flamingo just past Club Med to the Infinity Bar 5 minutes the other way...something for all. Everything is basically twice as expensive but so worth it. We will return.

Mostly good

Always get a two bedroom with my family (kids and grandkids). Usually get midpriced Oceanview 2 bdrm. This time they put us in a 2 bedroom apt. Not good. Maybe ok for 2 couples.Same price (shouldn't be). Inquired but problem was never solved. In fact the front desk became nasty. Not all, Shaneequa, Belinda and Claudia were very helpful. The good news, beach guys ,Eddie, Francois and Russel make your day. Bartenders, Mack and mini Mack great and professional. Grounds always impeccible. Just the management was mostly nasty altho Jeffrey did show some interest and compassion. May or may not return sorry to say.

Beautiful, Lush Paradise

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in late February. The RWI exceeded our expectations and we had a fantastic time staying here! The property is lush and beautiful and well maintained. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our studio with a balcony was perfect and the garden view was beautiful. The room was extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the beach sipping drinks, which we were conveniently able to get at the Pelican Bat restaurant in the resort. I can’t wait to return next year!

Great long weekend at a gorgeous beach!
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had a great stay at royal West Indies. Everything was exactly as described. Our room was clean, had laundry machines and soap, and there was a full fridge and microwave, coffeemaker, toaster which was great! We loved using the bikes each morning to explore ! We also loved that the market was such a quick bike ride away and we got breakfast items, beer, snacks, etc! We went to the resort’s restaurant, Pelican Bay each night for happy hour and dinner and enjoyed it. We didn’t find the prices high at all and were aware of the extra tax. The drinks are half price during happy hour. The beach is the most beautiful we’ve ever been to- gorgeous water and sand. There was a hobie cat, kayak, paddle boards to borrow which was wonderful too. We enjoyed just walking the beach as well. We had no trouble getting chairs with an umbrella during our long weekend there. The pools were clean and all the guests were respectful of one another. It was overall a great, much needed long weekend together on a beautiful island! I would recommend the resort and would definitely return!
