How to Get There
This is my third time in TCI and my first stay at OCW. I love OCW the best out of the other two, also on Grace Bay. The location is my favorite part as I don't rent a car. It's within walking distance from the grocery store, and restaurants. I used the free bike and rode down to Lemon 2 Go for my morning coffee. I would eat breakfast at Solano as well as lunch. I did ride/walk over to Cacios Bakery for some pastries which were delish. You can walk/ride bikes to the grocery store and cook meals in your fully equipped kitchen/fridge to save money. You can walk down to Coco Van which is a taco food truck, expensive but good. I would suggest bringing your own pool floats (from the dollar tree) as the resort doesn't have their own floats, they do offer paddleboards and kayaks tho. The staff was very friendly and I can't wait to come back. My room was nice, remodeled bathroom, nice kitchen area and great screened porch with table and chairs. The a/c worked great. Love this resort and the staff.
I took my family (5 adults total) to Provo to celebrate my son's graduation from college. It was my first time in T&C. I chose Ocean Club West based on Travelocity reviews. I struggled between all inclusive (OCW is not) vs. out of pocket. We rented a car (through Grace Bay Rentals - AWESOME) and drove EVERYWHERE on the island. We took a 1/2 day excursion with Big Blue Collective (super awesome). Our condo at OCW was a 2 level, 2.5, 2 BR condo. The upstairs had 2 twin beds and a full bath. The downstairs had a beautiful Master Bedroom with full bath and an enclosed porch (facing the tennis courts), a full kitchen and a large sitting area with a sleep sofa, large sliders opened to a screened in porch with ocean views. We were in room 713 (G building I think). We had a big breakfast in the AM at the condo, had light lunches and went out to dinner. Eating out IS expensive. For the five of us (one of whom does not drink), lunch with cocktails for 4 was $175-$300 depending on how "thirsty" we were. Dinner was closer to $400-$500. But, we chose excellent restaurants and could go anywhere with the car. I highly recommend OCW. The AC blasts 24/7 cuz it's so hot. We had an issue with the upstairs AC not working, called the front desk, and it was fixed that same day. We locked up our valuables in the room safe and got ourselves locked out a few times (LOL), called the desk and security was up in minutes. Super happy with everything.!!
A spacious screened porch on our third floor condo gave us a beautiful view of the lovely grounds and pool AND the magnificent Grace Bay water. The unit was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. First morning we discovered coffee pot was broken. A call to the front desk and housekeeping promptly delivered a new one. All staff were so friendly and helpful all week long. We made use of the complimentary kayaks and paddle boards on the beach, and enjoyed amazing drinks made by the talented bartenders at Solana. Location of Ocean Club West is in easy walking distance to several great restaurants, shopping, and a grocery store. We saw people staying at the sister property (Ocean Club) who had to take the free shuttle to OC West, then walk to the store, then get shuttle back to their property which is not convenient to anything. We were so thankful we stayed at OC West! Great first trip to TCI!
This resort was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in a two bedroom oceanfront condo with a kitchen and screened in porch. It could not have been better. The resort is dated but impeccably clean. All the staff was all delightful. Tia who greeted us upon checking in was exceptional and set the tone for a wonderful trip. If you are looking for super fancy and glitzy this is not the place for you. If you want a comfortable, clean and conveniently located - this is the place for you.
If you're looking for a condo (living room, full kitchen, laundry/dryer, bedrooms, etc.) this is definitely the place to stay. Convenient for families or longer duration stays. There's a big grocery store a few minutes away (or take one of the bikes) where you can stock up on everything and anything. The rooms and the overall resort is a bit tired and needs an upgrade. This is very evident as you walk along the beach and see the other properties and beach chairs.
If you're a couple and looking for a romantic stay, this is not the place to go. Recommend this location if there's a good deal available.
