Well located for grocery shopping and local eateries, and just a short drive from Grace Bay Beach, Venetian Ridge Vacation Villas is a no-frills, wallet-friendly sleep that’s geared toward families and couples alike. This inland collection of condo-style villas makes guests feel like homeowners, with the added convenience of an on-site concierge office. The beautifully landscaped property also features special touches like a portable barbecue, beach chairs and sun umbrellas for use during your stay, and a spa pavilion and pool are in the works for late 2014. At 587 square feet, Deluxe Two-Bedroom Villas are on the simple side, but they’re great for families, featuring a full kitchen and dining area (which will come in handy, since there’s no restaurant on-site).
In the Area
You’ll need a rental car to make the most of Providenciales Island’s stunning beaches, but Venetian Ridge is just a short drive from the white sand and turquoise waters of Grace Bay. Taylor Bay and Chalk Sound are farther afield but well worth the journey. Swing your clubs at the Provo Golf Club; the challenging and beautifully landscaped course is the only one in Turks and Caicos (look out for flamingos in the lakes). Hungry? Hit Da Conch Shack, which, while a bit on the touristy side, is a must for mollusk lovers with such offerings as conch salad, conch fritters, conch chowder and more. Or ditch your pool lounger and trot along Long Bay Beach on horseback; it’s one of the best ways to take in the vista of white sand and turquoise water. Riders of all skill levels can participate; long pants are strongly suggested.
How to Get There
Kokomo Botanical is the best way to enjoy TCI. The staff are the best. I went with my wife and two young daughters (10yo and 5yo). Prior to arrival, Butler Jan sent us information for airport transfers, but also recommended that we rent a car. We did not follow his advice, but that was a mistake. Driving in TCI is easy.
Upon arrival, it was raining, so Butler Laurence greet us right at our villa #212. He gave us a tropical fruit drink to enjoy while he went over the check-in. He also provided cool clothes. His overview of the amenities was superb and then he provided us with a cellphone to use locally. It had preprogrammed numbers for all of the butlers.
There is a grocery store close by, so Butler Laurence arranged for a taxi to take us. The taxi driver waited for us while we were in the store about 45 minutes. Upon returning to the villa, the cost was only $20 round-trip including the wait. Amazing! Butler Laurence definitely knew the right person to call.
The next day, we decided that we wanted a rental car. I tried calling Avis, but there were issues with their phone, so I asked Gabriella. She then got Butler Wenie to use her skills. Wenie was able to arrange a rental car through Sixt at less of a cost than through the website. The Sixt employee even brought the car to our villa. Talk about service!!!
The next day we drove all over the island, but unfortunately at sunset experienced two flat tires due to a strange incident. I called Butler Wenie and she arranged for Sixt to come to our location. They brought us a brand new rental car and took care of the other one. Needless to say, Wenie stayed up late making sure that we made it back safely. We're so thankful for her, as when I tried calling Sixt, they did not answer.
As for the resort, the villas are more than spacious. Two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen and living room. It was perfect for our family of four. We all loved the pool which has water from a natural spring. We felt refreshed every time we took a dip. The resort was quiet all the time, at most there were a few other couples or individuals around. It's not chaos like the larger resorts.
Their private transportation to Bight Beach was perfect. It was so awesome having a butler at the beach with lounge chairs and an umbrella at no additional cost. Their beach is a 10 minute walk from the coral reef gardens, which are spectacular.
We also had a private tour of their gardens by their gardeners. They picked fruits and veggies off of the plants just for us. The best!!!
The resort is in the middle of the island: 10 mins to the airport, 10 minutes to Grace Bay area, 15 minutes to Sapodilla/Taylor bay. Best location without the crowds.
We're so thankful for the staff at Kokomo Botanical for making our first trip to TCI so memorable and easy.
I was in contact with the staff from the moment I booked my trip. The butler service was superb. Laurence, Osnar, and Wenie all took such good care of me, my wife, and my 1 year old daughter and made sure everything was taken care of. Upon arrival, Osnar greeted us as well as the Property Manager and gave us nice cold towels to cool down with due to the intense heat. He gave me an overview of all the amenities and showed me where everything was located in the villa. The villa even came with a cellphone that I could use to contact the butlers or security 24 hrs a day. Each morning we were given the option of eating breakfast in the resort or in our room and had a nice healthy breakfast with a few great options. Laurence made a list of must see places for me and my family along with how far each place was. Luckily my cellphone was working and Google Maps worked perfectly over there. My rental car came in handy as we zipped around to different beaches, restaurants, and shopping plazas throughout the island for the week. Wenie was really kind to my daughter and offered my wife fresh aloe when she got badly burned by the sun. The villa was fully loaded with amenities and the botanical garden and walkways around our villa were beautiful. It was literally a 1 minute drive away from Grace Bay and Bight Park. It was definitely a trip to remember. Thank you to Osnar, Laurence, and Wenie for taking care of my family for the week.
My wife and I recently traveled to Turks and Caicos for to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We selected Kokomo because of the botanical experience, the service, and the small size of the resort. The service and the accommodations were extremely good. All of the staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. The pool is amazing. The jacuzzi was beautiful and relaxing. They brought our breakfast the night before, so we could enjoy it at our leisure in our room. The view from our cottage was amazingly beautiful. We rented a car before arriving. They had the car delivered to the cottage and also arranged for it to be picked up for us, so we didn't have to return it. The only things that could've made our stay better is that the A/C didn't cool the unit as much as we would've liked at night and we would've liked to have a restaurant on site. The A/C worked pretty well during the day, but we got hot at night. Overall, we had a very good stay there. It was made very special by the employees there, including Laurence the Butler, Maureen, and Winnie. They went the extra mile to ensure that we had a superb experience.
