Well located for grocery shopping and local eateries, and just a short drive from Grace Bay Beach, Venetian Ridge Vacation Villas is a no-frills, wallet-friendly sleep that’s geared toward families and couples alike. This inland collection of condo-style villas makes guests feel like homeowners, with the added convenience of an on-site concierge office. The beautifully landscaped property also features special touches like a portable barbecue, beach chairs and sun umbrellas for use during your stay, and a spa pavilion and pool are in the works for late 2014. At 587 square feet, Deluxe Two-Bedroom Villas are on the simple side, but they’re great for families, featuring a full kitchen and dining area (which will come in handy, since there’s no restaurant on-site).
In the Area
You’ll need a rental car to make the most of Providenciales Island’s stunning beaches, but Venetian Ridge is just a short drive from the white sand and turquoise waters of Grace Bay. Taylor Bay and Chalk Sound are farther afield but well worth the journey. Swing your clubs at the Provo Golf Club; the challenging and beautifully landscaped course is the only one in Turks and Caicos (look out for flamingos in the lakes). Hungry? Hit Da Conch Shack, which, while a bit on the touristy side, is a must for mollusk lovers with such offerings as conch salad, conch fritters, conch chowder and more. Or ditch your pool lounger and trot along Long Bay Beach on horseback; it’s one of the best ways to take in the vista of white sand and turquoise water. Riders of all skill levels can participate; long pants are strongly suggested.
How to Get There
My husband and son(14 yrs old) spent 5 nights at Kokomo, the resort is beautiful, the staff at check-in was very nice and informative about places to go on the island. The lavender infused washcloth was a nice touch from the heat. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage and it was clean and enough space for the 3 of us. Highly recommend getting a car if you are comfortable driving. The butler (Osnor) at Grace Bay was great, he was very attentive and always had a welcoming smile when we got to the beach. We definitely enjoyed our time at Kokomo.
We enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.
Some useful info:
Each unit has two bedrooms, one bathroom, one family room, and a small kitchen.
We stayed with our daughter and her husband so we enjoy these type units far more than just two hotel rooms.
Each unit stands on it’s own. It is near other units but not attached.
Beautiful walking paths that are botanical between the units. We were up and outside one morning at 7. The main gardener gave us a tour and explained the various plants that are growing.
Coffee is provided each morning at the main office.
No food is served on the property.
The provide a shuttle service to the beach and have umbrellas and chairs at the beach. A butler is at the beach but no food or drinks other than water are served at the beach. Restaurants and bars are nearby at the beach.
You can walk to the beach in about 20 minutes.
Thursday evening is a big fish fry (Party) at the beach. Don’t skip that.
The office provides beach towels and will change them out daily.
Water at the beach is perfect. See your feet when standing up to your neck beautiful.
You need a rental to explore the entire island but we did walk to some restaurants. 1-2 miles away.
Kokomo has a small pull and a nice hot tub.
Grocery store is about 3/4 of a mile away.
We stayed here for 8 nights and loved it! If you’re looking for quiet and quaint with a friendly staff this is your place! We stayed with our 2 kids ages 10 and 12. The villa was a good size for the 4 of us. We rented a car for our whole stay. The beach is very close. And the beach butler Osnor is THE BEST!!! The pool is small but very nice!
This was an excellent family vacation. Our villa was small but very clean and surrounded by a beautiful variety of trees that gave us privacy. All kitchen utensils were included, as well as a cooler for the beach, which we used a few times for lunch.
The pool and lounge area were very relaxing and beautifully lit at night, and the beach was just a few minutes car ride away. We used a rental car mostly, but a shuttle was also provided when we needed it.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Jan emailed us before we arrived, to make sure we had our car rental set up. Our butler, Osnor, showed us around on our first day and explained everything thoroughly. He was available by phone (also provided), as well as on the beach, where he had our chairs and umbrella set up and waiting for us.
Both Osnor and Weenie booked reservations to the restaurants of our choice, gave us recommendations, and answered our questions. Overall, everyone, including security and maintenance, were very friendly and offered plenty of help.
Definitely would recommend and hope to visit again in the future.
The villa’s were small but very clean and comfortable and furnished with everything we needed. The staff (especially Jan, Weenie and Osnar) were genuinely very friendly and went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Jan helped us by booking a kayaking tour which also was wonderful. We rented a car as we like to explore so we did not use the free shuttle. However the beach site at Bight Park where they have umbrellas and lounges set up is beautiful. The beach area is not crowded and water is amazingly clear and clean. And a short walk to a beach restaurant and bar named Somewhere. Kokomo is centrally located and everything was a short drive so touring the island was easy. The place was pretty and the grounds keepers were also cordial and answered questions about the garden. It was a pleasure to stay here.
