In a café-packed residential neighborhood close to the Bosphorus, the W Istanbul is a glam getaway with contemporary Ottoman-inspired interiors. Fashioned by local interior design firm GeoID, this sophisticated sleep sits within a 19th-century row house and surprises and delights from the get-go: The entrance is a mirrored tunnel walkway designed to look like a jewelry box. Artist Thierry Dreyfus is behind the striking lighting effects, including hot pink panels in the hallways, and the nightclub-style lobby streams a funky playlist.
Bed and Bath
Sultry and spacious, the guestrooms all have high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and signature W beds topped with pillowtop mattresses, goosedown comforters and down pillows embroidered with “Sweet Dreams,” and all but the Wonderful Rooms come with a private patio or terrace. Luxe features include 32-inch flat-screen LCD TVs set behind stylish black mirrored glass, oversize leather work desks and iPod docks. The hammam-style bathrooms feature rainfall showers, twin sinks, intricate backlit mirrors and Bliss toiletries.
Start the day with breakfast at the W Lounge, an elegant Ottoman-inspired spot open 24 hours a day. Fill up on specialties like menemen (a Turkish take on scrambled eggs), sucuk sausage and simit bread. In the evening, themed bento boxes combine Turkish and Asian delicacies. The Destination Bar is a hipster hideaway for cocktails and DJ sets. Head to the glass-paneled fitness room to work out while looking out to a leafy courtyard.
In the Area
The hotel is located in the Besiktas neighborhood, a great spot for traditional Turkish music, seafood restaurants, a fresh fish market and authentic teahouses and coffee shops to tempt you with baklava and other tasty Turkish treats. On Saturdays it’s worth the walk to the Besiktas Organic Market for inexpensive local food. The Nisantasi district is also nearby for designer boutiques and hip bars. Most of the main palaces and museums are within walking distance as well, and there’s a minibus to lively Taksim Square, the Galata Tower, Cihangir and Ortaköy. The property is well connected by tram to the old city, where you can explore the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, the Spice Baazar or Hagia Sophia.
How to Get There
it is the second time that I stay at W Istanbul and yet again my experience was amazing .
The hotel is located at a beautiful street full of Bars and Restaurants in Besiktas which is a trendy and upper market area in Istanbul, the hotel is set at a historical lovely building. This time I had a suite with a lovely small balcony which over looked the lively streets.
the rooms at W are very specious and comfortable, the bathroom has a very nice big lit up mirror which suits me great so i can get my hair and make up ready in no time, the bedding is also very comfortable and nice soft pillows the house keeping was impecable!
times when i did not want to go out at night i just ordered room service and the food was delicious always delivered in 25min.
the buffet breakfast is set at the W lounge and with an extensive options of fruits, breads, cereal, and cooked breakfast.
every night i would go to the W lounge for a glass of wine and the service was impeccable. the whole experience was amazing the hotel is luxurious but modern. The hotel staff all spoke very good english and they were all extremely helpful whenever I had a query or if i needed anything.
I highly recommend W Istanbul my stay was magical !! thanks to everyone who made my trip so special at W hotel

This is my third stay - first couple of times were fine, however this time things did not start well - W Istanbul has a fantastic location, close to everything. and the area around the hotel is buzzing with cafes.
I visited it during a high season, I tired to call to book but the person answering the call was quickly to rush to say "we are fully booked" when the Marriott BonVoy app showed otherwise. So next day when I arrived to istanbul I just walked in - the staff was not enthusiastic or smiling (was very close to leaving and going to Marriott A/C which is couple of minutes further up) - so this was strike one.
Strike two when ordering room service, the dude just handed over the stuff, no smile, no greetings no nothing, he was actually frowning rather even smiling.
Strike three, I had my dnd on and someone actually knocked and walked in!
Location and property is beautiful but the some staff need to be trained properly to how W service levels are actually are.
This hotel is perfect. Very beautiful. Clean and the rooms are interestingly gorgeous very bohemian design. I absolutely loved it here and probably will come back a lot more. The reason for my 4 star is this hotel is seriously small and i dont even know how they ranks the stars in turkey but the spa was so cute and the food waa delicious. Love it the staff and the service is definitely 5 stars.
