How to Get There
If you are looking at his hotel you really do not need to look further ... It is in a great position in the heart of the old city yet the street it is on is quiet without much traffic but with colorful craft shops all around. One very soon gets on friendly terms with the nearby shopkeepers. The staff of the hotel are really genuinely friendly and so helpful, Azaz, the Concierge, is so polite and knows everything you could ask about. The rooms are spacious, elegant and the beds are sooo comfortable ... I felt as if I was in a 5 star hotel ! The hammam is free to use and well worth trying out after a long day seeing the sights - it is for both male and female. The breakfast is great with a nice variety and all you need to start the day, also, something hav never one across but is so nice is a free ‘ meze ‘ in the afternoon! So, on can have a tasty snack and continue with the day... In short, my wife and I loved it and would return anytime.
Sirkeci Mansion was located near a tram stop so it’s very convenient to go to many attractions. Topkapi Palace is just right across the street and Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque were just further up the hill. To go to Galata tower, we took a tram and walked for about 10 minutes. Dolmabahçe Palace is located at the last tram station so also very convenient. There were a lot of shops near the hotel which stayed opened very late (midnight) and made it felt safe to walk around when it was late at night. The gift shop next to the hotel was also very nice and offered plenty of ceramics, lamps, scarves, textile products, etc. In fact, the owner of the shop was the nicest person we had encountered in Istanbul besides the hotel staffs. Okay, the front desk manager was very helpful and informative. He gave us a city map and good tips on how to explore Istanbul.
Breakfast was good but there were not many varieties. Breakfast area was always very warm even was it was only 8:30 am. Hotel also offered complimentary meze in the afternoon which was delicious.
Airport shuttle arranged by hotel was late to pick us up from the airport but I believe that wasn’t the hotel’s fault since they used another company shuttle service. After we got our luggage, we looked for the sign with the code provided by the hotel and it was a group of men with a lot of these signs hanging on the rail in the arrival area. We believe those men helped coordinate the airport transfers but it was a bit concerning since we didn’t expect our driver to be late and wasn’t informed because hand that we had to follow this guy all the way down to the first floor of the airport and walked outside to the street to wait for our shuttle to arrive. And there was no help with the luggage whatsoever. The driver also drove very fast and I didn’t feel safe a couple of times. We informed the hotel staff when we arrived the hotel about this driver and hope that this will be improved.
The location of this hotel is 10+. It's nearby a tram station, but you can walk (5-15 minutes) to all the highlights as Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Sultan Ahmetmoskee, Grand Bazaar, etc. Many restaurants and shops when you walk out the hotel, but even though it is busy, it's not noisy! You don't hear the mosques in the morning. The breakfast has everything you need! There is a sunny roof terrace where you can relax after a busy day. It's not a big hotel, I think around 32 rooms, but that's the reason the people of the hotel have enough time for you! When we arrived they gave us all the information we need for the things we wanted to do. We booked a 'Culinary Walk in Sirkeci District' at the hotel. Agah Okay Alkan took us to some unique, delicious (street)restaurants. Where we normally as tourist wouldn't come. Just perfect! We have nothing to complain about this hotel, and would recommend everybody to book here. We will definitely come back!
We stayed here on a 3 day visit to Istanbul. The location is perfect:30metres from the tram station and 2 stops away from the Grand Bazaar. The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was calm and serene despite the frenzy going on outside. The breakfast could be better but otherwise difficult to fault. The room was a bit small but tasteful. I'd recommend this hotel for its perfect location and it's friendly staff
Everything we experience with this hotel is excellent. Below are some of the points we experienced:
1. Hotel tucked away in a small street without much traffic so noise is at minimum. Our room comes with a bath tub. Everything is squeaky clean which is superb.
2. Once checked in, they assigned a staff to explain Istanbul to us. That includes, places of interest, transportation, restaurants and whatever we need to know.
3. We bought an Istanbulkart from them which can be used for multiple persons (max 5 persons I read somewhere) at 10 TL, which they happily refund us when we return the card. I don't think the refund is possible anywhere else.
4. They have a couple of tours/experiences that are free and we joined the cooking class. The chef and translator were excellent, as well as the food.
5. They can assist to call or book a taxi or restaurant for you for free.
One thing that didn't went so well was on our last day, they called a taxi for us but didn't speak to the driver whom, after we boarded, told us he was not going to follow the meter and will charge us a flat rate of 150 lira to the airport instead.
Anyway, this hotel is highly recommended and we won't hesitate to stay there again.
