The Istanbul luxury hotel scene’s proliferation continues apace, and this glamorous 185-room newcomer is one of the most high-profile additions. Set on the fashionable European side of the city in the neighborhood of Beşiktaş, with views over the mighty Bosphorus, Raffles adds a certain Asian-style élan to the white-hot scene. The hotel is located at the heart of the Zorlu Center, a kind of modern-day bazaar showcasing high-end fashion and with a state-of-the-art performing arts center. The opulent interiors were designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates and while the vibe tends towards the mirror, marble and gilt style, there’s also a distinctly Turkish flavor here in the Ottoman and Byzantine-inspired textiles and colors and the outstanding collection of specially-commissioned artworks, many by Turkish artists. The spa is a standout, a mini-universe of luxe pampering that includes four pools, saunas and steam rooms, along with jacuzzis, hammams and relaxation areas galore. The dining scene, meanwhile, takes guests from Catalan, Spain — chef Sergi Arola’s key regional influence — to the Mediterranean, at Rocca, where the dishes have a Turkish spin. There are also three bars, including the atmospheric Writer’s Bar, along with a summertime terrace bar called Lounge 6 on the 6th floor.
In the Area
Slip into your fanciest outfits for a night out at the Zorlu Performing Arts Center, Europe’s largest, which will host everything from Broadway musicals to opera in a dramatic space. While at Zorlu, discover homegrown Turkish fashion talent like Sevan Bıçakçı, whose stunning jewels are like museum-worthy works of art; swanky-meets-preppy menswear at Abdullah Kiğılı; and a host of both established and hard-to-find names at Beyman, a branch of Istanbul’s famous department store. Pretend you own the place when you visit the extravagant, ornamental neo-classical pile known as Dolmabahçe Palace, a castle built by Sultan Abdül Mecit I on the shores of the Bosphorus, then join the well-heeled demi-monde at Vogue, a popular restaurant offering swell views over the water.
How to Get There
Having just recently spent a long weekend in Istanbul I can truly say the hotel has provided excellent service with a combination of very attentive & professional employees that have made our stay very special. The Spa facilities and the experience of the Turkish Hammam is an absolute must! Having stayed at various Raffles over the years it was once again a very special experience and we will definitely be visiting the hotel soon again .
I was staying in 2607, and I have to say that my stay was beyond my expectations. It goes from the second I stepped my feet in up till now. Everyone has an excellent sense of details, Customer service for them has a meaning. My room was very well cleaned and set daily. Restaurants were very welcoming, service and food were perfect. I have to command Sana’a my butler as well who showed presence and efficiency all the time. She was extremely attentive to details and to my needs, very resourceful, and of course very professional.
I highly recommend this hotel
Need to experience it to believe it how good it is. Raffles Istanbul is just as always worthwhile visiting and staying. We feel at home and the love for small details proves that this is hospitality on very high level. Thank you again.
It was our honeymoon and Sena &Burak as very kind, gentle nice, responsible, tasteful, meek staff did a remarkable, awesome decoration with balloons up to ceiling and red roses all over our room and bathroom. They did not only all I asked them, but also they did more fabulous things with my photos and red wine surprisingly. The staff all very nice and kine. Any request from room service is within 5 min answered. Fabulous breakfast. Very polite valet parking. This is our second time staying in raffle hotel. As we enjoyed a lot here with quite atmosphere, we will stay here for our next trip to Istanbul.
I highly recommended raffles Istanbul. the hotel is our second home since 2014. The rooms are the biggest in the city with amazing bosphorus view. I recommened signature room which is my favorite. Very nice and service oriented hotel.
