Best Hotel in Istanbul and among Best in the World

Istanbul is about the Bosphorus and when you visit you need to stay as close to it as you can. Why not stay where Sultans did? At the Ciragan Palace ? The Kempinski Hotel property next to the Palace must be one of the best located hotels in the whole world. You will enjoy its pool and wonderful gardens next to the Bosphorus and you will not get tired of taking pictures. Add to the location the excellent service of the Kempinski chain. Great rooms plus great service. Highly recommended.

stunning hotel not suitable for wheel chair customers

The hotel is stunning, one of the best kempinski's and one of the best hotels in Istanbul. The rooms are comfortable, the deck for drinks is lovely, staff are wonderful......everything is perfect except if you have a family member on a wheelchair then think twice. because its an old palace, they have many structural limitations, the biggest one being that only 3 rooms in the hotel have walk in showers, the rest are all bathtubs. My friend had this problem with her mum, they were able to finally get her one room with a walk in shower, but she had to pay extra....an unexpected expense.

Old and tired rooms....

The hotel has an amazing location but is living on its past glory. The rooms are frozen in time, from when I first visited 20 years ago nothing has changed!
The fabric is the rooms is very worn, the floor very marked and the bathrooms so old, it really needs a gut re do.
The staff are very helpful, and look ashamed when you mention the state of the rooms.
The rooms are also small and the bathrooms small, we booked a room that was advertised on the hotel web site as 50 m and it was tiny with a tiny terrace that two people could just about fit on.
I would stay elsewhere and visit for tea!
