The idyllic setting of Thailand’s Koh Chang makes it one of the most peaceful destinations in the world. Teeming with wild beauty, this unique spot is perfect for a luxurious escape. Set along one of the island’s most gorgeous beaches, the five-star Emerald Cove Koh Chang invites you to experience it all for yourself. You’ll find impressive mountains, tropical rain forests, abundant marine life and clear turquoise waters – all you need to do is sit back, relax and unwind.
Impossible as it may sound, the resort itself is just as stunning as the surrounding landscape. You’ll enjoy an inviting 164-ft. pool that overlooks the sea, as well as a sleek spa offering massages and yoga. And when you work up an appetite from all that lounging, you’ll have two gourmet restaurants to choose from, serving up delicious local fare and international favorites. End your day with a glass of wine on the pool terrace, or, if you’re up for a bit more excitement, stop by Macao Club and end the night in style.
Each luxurious Deluxe room boasts elegant, inviting décor and 540 square feet for you to stretch out in. You’ll find a marble bathroom, a private balcony, gorgeously crafted wooden furniture and lovely Thai touches.
Sample a sumptuous range of dishes at the two high-end restaurants, serving traditional Italian, authentic Thai and international favorites. Elsewhere, the Pool Lounge offers tropical cocktails and a lovely setting, and beachside dining can be arranged.
Emerald Spa is ready to take your relaxation to the next level. Melt your troubles away with a traditional Thai massage, or take a soothing yoga class. Beauty treatments are also available, and you’ll find a fully equipped fitness center on site.
The hotel is set right on the edge of a snowy-white beach in Koh Chang. Nearby activities include hiking through rain forests, elephant trekking, fishing, sailing, snorkeling and diving.
How to Get There
Staying there now. Room of a really high standard in terms of furnishings overlooking sea. Wooden floors and lots of space. Big bath in bathroom. Wifi good.
Love there pool and gym. Pool big 50 metres best in Koh Chang.
Breakfast of a good standard but maybe not as good as before in terms of range of food. Maybe because hotel is quiet.
Beach area is really nice though as I have noted previously you need to work out where the rocks are. Just left of the resort is rock free. There is sometimes some plant matter in the water but no big deal.
Staff are friendly and do a good job. One staff member at breakfast Sontan has been there for 10 years and remembers us each time. You can walk to good restaurants around the resort.
We went to this hotel for my 40th birthday celebration with my family. We came to this hotel before 10 years ago when it was operated by Amari group. We decided to come here again this time. We were very upset with the service of most of the staff, especially F&B team, and pool side team. We asked for the beach towel at the pool side, the staff told us to walk to the front desk to get it. Also when we would like to order some food at pool side, most of the staff not very attentive or eager to give you services. Cost of food in hotel is very costly, and I noticed many guests bought their own food/drinks from convenient store to eat in the hotel. In my opinion, staff training is really needed big time in order to gain back my trust like it was managed by Amari group 10 years ago. Room condition is quite old now. Breakfast offers variety of food, but quite crowded during peak time.
The Emerald Cove has a great location and the hotel has large grounds. An excellent swimming pool and smaller pools for children. The room was great as we were given an upgrade as we were travelling with our 12 year old daughter. The food was pretty too. Two things to be aware of: Koh Chang is attracting a large number of Chinese tourists and the noise levels at breakfast or around the pool can be a little disheartening first thing in the morning. Secondly, sand flies. You should stay reasonably covered up if you go on the beach even if it is windy as you are not aware of being bitten until the following day. It is not a pleasant experience if you are bitten. I would happily return to the Emerald Cove.
I score this place a five. I have nothing to complain about and if I did, I know that it would only take a minute to be fixed.
The resort is well placed and the beach is nice. Rooms are fairly large, well furnitured and very well kept/clean. The garden is nice and oh!! - what a swimming pool they have!!!. Restaurant is spacious and the choice during breakfast is reasonable. The “staff”, all of them and I mean all, from the Receiption, Restaurant, the cleaning staff, security, concierge and the rest are role models. Very friendly and very caring and anyone of them can take care of any of your needs. I must say, I have been around the world and to many hotels and resorts, but none of the places I have been to, have staff that would beat this amazing team. Hats off to the management of the resort.
The hotel is quite in terms of activities but a bit noisy with the guests. During my four day stay there, 90% of guests were Chinese and they are kind of noisy to say the least.
I will stay here again and again.
Loved the pool and the pool side cocktails! The hotel also has a nice beach area.
I highly enjoyed walking on the board walk back to our room, it was very peaceful.
The rooms were nice but a little small for my taste, even though we did not spend much time there.
