How to Get There
We stayed 3 nights at the Capitol at the end of our Asia trip and loved this hotel even more than the first time we stayed there 2 years earlier. The hotel is sleek, contemporary yet comfortable and warm and has a unique Japanese style and charm. The staff and service were absolutely fantastic in every way... the front desk, concierge, restaurant staff and bell captain were all so attentive, polite and accommodating. The hotel is a bit removed from most of the more popular Tokyo sightseeing spots but very convenient nonetheless, with a series of subway stations below the hotel. The Shinto Shrine next to the property and beautiful gardens lend an air of quiet and solitude in the middle of the bustle of Tokyo. We totally love this hotel and it's become our go to property in Tokyo. Moreover, compared to the Peninsula, Park Hyatt and other comparable high end hotels the Capitol is very reasonably priced.
Never expected a get a good corporate rate so i gave it a try.
To my surprise, its a spacious, clean, good service and elegant hotel. The staff is really amazing and this is really.
The shower is very good, the bed is awesome, everything is good except the TV size, its small (42 inch i think). However, it has English Premier League which is very very awesome.
Location wise is not fantastic and it is in a quite location but well connected to at least 4 railway lines. So not a problem.
Capitol is a very luxury 6 star hotel located in the center of Tokyo. It has a bigger than average room with spacious closet and bath tub. Excellent service, staff are very well trained, polite and attentive. There is no JR line but metro line instead, it may be a little far from the shopping area but we can experience the tranquil side of the busy city.
The Hie Shrine is just next to it and worth for a visit too.
Stayed 5 nights on a luxury escape deal. We stayed on Club floor with access to club lounge. Everything about this hotel was 5 star plus.
Great room, fantastic staff, great position over subway station so easy transport everywhere.
As we were arriving at rush hour we prebooked airport to hotel coach as did not fancy carting our cases on the underground not really knowing what we were doing.
However train would be alot quicker but it is a little daunting trying to find right exits to stations until you get the hang of it.
We got a personal guide through "tours by Locals" lady called Eriko. She was fantastic as got us sorted with train passes that worked on all lines and showed us how to navigate the system. Club lounge staff were great and worth the upgrade to come back in the evening and sit down for some nice glasses of wine and some snacks. Actually enough snacks not to need dinner some nights. Breakfast in the lounge was also excellent.
Only ate in one restaurant in the Hotel to spend dining credit we had included. The Japanese restaurant there was difficult as it did set menus and i cant eat fish or seafood and we were not confident on talking to them they could accomodate me. Origami were we ate was expensive and very western/French, not very interesting.
This was a great stay with staff ( so many staff) always there to assist in everyday.
Not cheap hotel but highly recommend and we are cotemplating buying another luxury escape deal for it.
Had three nights here on a first ever visit to Tokyo. Could not have asked for more. Stylish, very comfortable, complete silence, wonderful service. View of Mt.Fuji when the smog allowed. Good breakfast to get the day started
