Romantic dockside gem overlooking San Francisco Bay
This intimate property has the most enviable location in Tiburon, on a dock overlooking San Francisco Bay, with the city’s skyline visible from one side and Angel Island on the other. And the 25-room boutique hotel makes the most of its location, serving wine and cheese on the deck in the evening, and free room service breakfast to be enjoyed in front of the in-room fireplace, on the balcony, or taken out to the deck. The staff guides guests to the Mill Valley Health Club to make the most of their free day passes, and points out great restaurants nearby whether your taste veers towards Italian (Servino), continental (Sam’s Anchor Café), Mexican (Guaymas), or French (Caprice).
In the Area
The Waters Edge is practically on top of a ferry terminal from which guests can set sail for Angel Island or to San Francisco’s Ferry Building. But there’s plenty to do if you prefer to stick to dry land. That could mean biking the Sausalito Trail, hiking in Muir Woods, or taking in some culture at the Marin Symphony or Book Passage bookstore, which hosts frequent author events. And if what you really need is a nice, big glass of wine, the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma are an hour’s drive away.
