Secluded retreat between Hue and Hoi An, with spacious thatch-roofed villas and a stilted spa village

The Look

Lounging lagoonside, flanked by gorgeous mountain scenery between the charming cities of Hue and Hoi An, the Vedana encapsulates isolated escapism. Generously spaced stilted villas connect land with water via serpentine wooden walkways, creating mesmerizing reflections on the gently ebbing tide. Dining areas replicate the intricately carved garden houses that were once home to the Hue city elite and royalty, lending the resort a truly traditional Vietnamese soul.

Bed and Bath

Enormous beds dressed in an abundance of natural cottons complement contemporary wooden furniture and cool marble floors. All creature comforts are taken care of in-room, should you tire of the view from your private deck. Bathrooms come with a large marble bathtub with a view, his-and-hers sinks and an outdoor tropical shower. For more space and seclusion, the Honeymoon Pool Villas offer a larger living room and a private garden complete with a pool.

Although it’s quite possible to stay happily ensconced in your villa, venture out to discover a heavenly way to shake up the chakras with free tai chi and yoga classes, and masseuses who read your body like a book. When sustenance is required, the menu of mouthwatering local and Western dishes can be taken anytime, anywhere. The seafood platter and freshly caught oysters are worth shelling out for. Private cooking classes and fishing trips can be arranged and are heartily recommended, followed by a gentle workout in the gym, a round or two of tennis, or a glass of your preferred something by the lap-size infinity pool.

In the Area

There are few places in Vietnam where a sedate pace is advised, but at the Vedana it’s positively encouraged, which makes for some guilt-free loafing with a good book, or simply lying back on the veranda drinking in the ever changing landscape. For the more adventurous there are canoes and bikes to explore the sleepy fishing villages along the lagoon. And if a daytrip’s in order, the resort offers tours to nearby Lang Co Beach and a free round-trip shuttle bus to the ancient capital city, Hue, with time enough to explore the citadel and go wildly off menu at the fabulous Jardins de la Carambole.

Honeymoon in Vietnam
Reviewed 5 days ago

This was our 6th accomodation in Vietnam. We were transferred here from their other hotel (Pilgrimage Village in Hue). Best decision we have made! We got a HUGE upgrade. The view from our villa was the lagoon. Our villa has its own private pool and outdoor shower, which my husband enjoyed. We had a beautiful marble bathtub, which was something I have always wanted to have. My husband loved the place so much, he said that he’s inspired to build something that is similar to it.

It felt like family here. Everyone knows what’s going on and the resort also set up our rooms for us with flowers on the bed with a little message, “Happy Honeymoon”.

The food here is delicious, we always care back for more. Make sure you come for the breakfast buffet, best food we had so far at a hotel on our trip!

There are also different activities you can do at the resort. We played tennis, pool and foosball. There is also badminton, beach volleyball and kayaking as well! Each room also get their own bikes so you can ride around the resort and take it out of the resort as well.

We really miss this place already! We can’t wait to come back! Most beautiful place we have been to and we also had the best sleep in the huge bed they have! The villa also inspired me. I want to have the same bed when I’m back home in Australia.

Thank you to everyone at Pilgrimage Village and Vedana Resort for a beautiful and relaxing stay.

Summer Holiday

Our group (6 rooms) spent 1 night in Vedana. Lovely lagoon-view from the connecting room, especially in the early morning with the sunrise.
The Lobby was cozy, nice staff. Swimming pool was awesome.
Breakfast was good with some of local cuisines (Hue cakes).
The only drawback was the soundproof between the connecting room (probably was the connecting door). The location not far from Hue city (approx. 40 km).

Great place on your trip between Hue and hoi An
Reviewed 1 month ago

I was doubting to book the place as it is a bit outside Hue (1/2hrs), and we only had to spend 1 day in Hue. But was I happy we did!
We arrived with an early morning flight from Hanoi (arrived around 10am in the airport) and booked a private tour (in fact it was only 20$ more than if you would book the hotel transfer) with another company. With our excellent and charming driver we went straight to the citadel where we did a 2,5hrs visit, (the driver stayed with the car so we could leave the luggage there) after which we did a short drive-through in Hue to a local place (great, cheap food). After this we went to the resort.
We were welcomed very friendly, we stayed in a water villa and I must say that - after some busy days in Hanoi, this was PERFECT, we relaxed at the pool, took a bath with a great view, had a nice walk to the restaurant and had a nice dinner. People were all the time nice and friendly. Breakfast was great too! We really felt completely relaxed and were sad to leave...
next day we had another driver picking us up towards Hoi An, to drive via the pass, but since the resort is in fact already on the way, we could leave 1hr later 🤗
Thanks a lot for our great time there! 🤗
