Located in northern Greece, Thessaloniki is a charming port city that’s filled with interesting history. Electra Palace Thessaloniki reflects the magic of this lovely region with an exterior that showcases plenty of Byzantine charm – all set right on the grand expanse of Aristotelous Square. Located between the Thermaic Gulf and Mount Olympus, you can expect stunning views in every direction.
There aren’t too many better places to enjoy these vistas from than Electra Palace Thessaloniki. The obvious highlight is the hotel’s elegant rooftop garden – the perfect spot for an al-fresco breakfast, lunch or dinner. You’ll also find a rooftop pool, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip as you look out across the glittering sea. For some serious relaxation, head to the indoor spa for a sauna session or and indulgent massage treatment. With this kind of pampering, and Mount Olympus in the distance, it’s hard not to feel like a Greek god (or goddess).
The spacious and airy Junior suites offer a traditional vibe, with rich woods, sumptuous furnishings and lovely views of either Aristotelous Square or the Thermaic Gulf. Each suite features a separate living area and a private balcony. Modern amenities are incorporated throughout, including Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels.
Enjoy breakfast with a view at Orizontes Roof Garden, boasting a panorama that takes in Mount Olympus, the sea, the city’s walls and the Sheikh’s Sou Forest. Open all day, from 6:30am until well past midnight, this is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Elsewhere, you’ll find Excelsior Bar, a sophisticated space featuring décor inspired by the aristocratic air of British clubhouses, with wood paneling, an open fireplace and chesterfield sofas.
Located right on the city’s main square, Electra Palace Thessaloniki is conveniently within reach of the local attractions, such as Elfetherias Square, the Thermaic Gulf and the White Tower. The airport is about 9 miles away, while the port is just 550 yards from the hotel. Thessaloniki itself is known for its Byzantine architecture and history, as well as an excellent culinary scene and vibrant nightlife.
How to Get There
We stayed here for 4 nights. It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The standard rooms are a little tired but very clean and have full amenities. The breakfast is a buffet and the choice excellent. There is a wonderful roof garden with spectacular views. This is where the restaurant is located. There is an outdoor swimming pool on the roof garden too but for part of our stay was not in use. However it’s a lovely place just to sit and read and relax. The staff are all extremely helpful and attentive. We did not use the spa facilities so cannot comment.
First of all it is not a palace but a four star hotel max. You have old stage decoration. Not modern at all. We did not have a room with view on the sea but with view on the roof with all the aircon of the hotel and the cheminee just under our window which was blowing 24h/7days. very confortable to hear this bloudy noice all day and all night. We had twin bed on wheels! very confortable when you are a couple and you wake up in the middle of the night because your bed is leaving you. about Sound proofing in your room is better to not speak about. from the outside as from the inside. if you want to sleep late in the morning, sorry but it is not possible. The spa, i do not know if we can call that a spa. A swimming pool where you can not swim because not deep enough. only 2 sun beds!! A hammam where you can be 2 skinny person max. sauna was not working.... Same for the swimming pool on garden roof. not deep enough to swim and anyway often with pigeon all around having good time. not really welcoming to go inside. i do not recommend at all this hotel for your journey in Thessalonique. They charge you the rate of a palace but with services and confort of a normal hotel.
Loved this hotel and the city of Thessaloniki! Everyone should visit here. The hotel is centrally located, with a lovely view of the sea. Walkability is excellent. The hotel rooftop is wonderful for a drink and/or dining. Staff was always professional and helpful. This is a good value for the money.
