Overview

Chic retreat on Phuket’s prime Mai Khao Beach with five restaurants and a full-service spa

The Lowdown

The 180 cheery rooms and suites at the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa offer all the usual luxury fixings (think fuzzy robes and separate marble bathtubs and showers), plus ample glass features to maximize the property’s postcard-worthy Mai Khao Beach locale. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide panoramas from every room, and interior glass walls help flood ensuite baths with natural light. The fully equipped fitness center is also a knockout with still more painted glass features framing state-of-the-art cardio equipment. Sneak in a workout, then unwind at the full-service spa or relax poolside with a cocktail from Sand Box Bar. Of the resort’s five restaurants, Loca Vore takes made-to-order dining to an entirely new level, with chefs offering a selection of the day’s fresh catch and preparing each dish to your taste.

In the Area

Mai Khao Beach is a stunner, but visiting a few more won’t hurt. Beach-hop from lively Patong to secluded Kamala, then head over to posh Surin—known as Millionaire’s Row, thanks to its lineup of mega mansions—for a taste of Phuket’s varied seaside offerings. Head to Yacht Haven Marina for unobstructed views of Phang Nga Bay, or Promthep Cape Viewpointfor a serious sunset perch. Don’t skip a trip to Thailand’s Phi Phi Islands for one of the country’s most notable photo-ops. Your concierge can recommend the best half- or full-day boating excursion including snorkeling stops for a peek beneath the surface.

A great resort to spend a week with a great group of friends. Perfect for a week of fitness and fun in the sun. Beating the winter blues at home. The staff are exceptional, R and Denis and Sek down at the Sandbox and pool are soooo helpful and funny (R, you are just the best), the food in both restaurants is brilliant. The Chefs are so good and friendly. Everyone is friendly. Always wanting to help. The buffet breakfast OMG!! Hard to leave this place! Definitely want to come back!

What a great resort.
The staff are fantastic. The pool staff of "R", Denis and others look after you like royalty with a sense of humour. "Hall" was all over the finer detail. The gym staff with Leeam, Golf, Yo and Thao were well trained, personal and very friendly. The room cleaners were amazing and fun. The chefs treated us to an authentic cooking class and it was very tasty and educational.
The buffet breakfasts were amazing. There are choices across 3 restaurants.
We would definitely go back.

Our holiday has been amazing so far!
The hotel is right at the beach. There is a beautiful swimming pool between the ocean and the hotel. Well done to R AND HIS TEAM at the pool side. These guys work really hard in the heat to make sure everyone is comfortable and hydrated. They always have a smile and nothing is too hard.

the cleaning staff is also very lovely. They clean the room perfectly and look after you very nicely. Today we came back from the pool and we had fresh flowers on our table. Amazing job PRAEN, thank you.
Hard to fault the staff, they are all so lovely and nice.

5+ stars for the R

A luxurious resort with the most amazing service, particularly by the incredible and dynamic pool-side staff - R, Denis and Sek. These guys looked after us as we lazed around the beautiful pool, keeping us hydrated with iced water, cocktails, and serving the most delicious food we could have hoped for. After lunch spa treatment massages were a lovely way to zone out before the evening, dining on truly incredible Thai cuisine (including other international cuisine) at the stunning restaurants. Amazing resort and staff

Had a wonderful family holiday here. It’s a beautiful resort and the staff are amazing. R, Denis and Sek worked so hard by the pool to make our holiday really fabulous.
The fitness staff were also great. Thai boxing with Leem and Yo is a must-do. The yoga sessions were amazing.
The food in all three restaurants was a highlight for us. Children are well catered for and there aren’t enough superlatives for the breakfast buffet.
