How to Get There
With all there is to do in Phuket, this is a private oasis close to but away from all the action. The property is exquisite, the staff friendly and attentive. Only one day did we have a little bit of an issue with getting a lounge on the beach. The beach is wonderful and every meal we had was wonderful. I do recommend the food in beach and pool restaurant, especially the chicken wings.
We have just returned from an 8 day visit to this wonderful place. The rooms are very well appointed & we had a beautiful view from the balcony of the pools & private beach. The food is varied, excellently presented with smiles & with plenty of very fresh food. The staff are always making sure that their guests are happy. The only drawback is the journey to & from Le Meridian.
My wife and I stayed at the Phuket Le Meridien for five nights. First time in Thailand, first time in Asia. We were offered an upgrade for a reasonable price and took advantage of the deal by booking a junior suite facing the pool. I recommend the upgrade if you can swing it. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Room service was prompt. There are several restaurants on the property. The pizza on the beach is fresh, quick and tasty. The Thai restaurant is excellent also. We are foodies and one of the reasons that we booked this property is to take the cooking class that that they offer. Despite a shuffle in the schedule, Santi, the manager of food and beverage, set up a private cooking class for us and had the food delivered to our room. We also got a tour of the garden where they grow food for the restaurants. It was a true five star experience that was the highlight of our stay!
The private beach is unbelievable and is reason enough to stay here. Really.
The staff is the friendliest I have encountered and the hotel was fully staffed despite it being off season.
We booked the private car from and to the airport. That was a good move. We also booked a tour of Old Phuket. That was informative, well paced and if was a good value.
Our tour of Phang Na was through Simba Tours - Outstanding.
If you have never gone to Asia before, Phuket and the Le Meridien are great destinations!
The location is amazing and that's why we keep returning. It was 5 years since our last stay and I have now introduced a third generation of my family to this resort. It's safe, child friendly and the staff (mostly) are fantastic. Some staff have been there since the 90's when we first started going. We were provided with great accommodation with super comfy beds.
Since our last visit, when I complained about the poor food nothing has changed except that it's a lot worse and more than doubled in price. Captive guests, most of who stay for a few days and perhaps don't understand cuisines outside their own countries, probably think it's normal.
The breakfast is amazing, but the evening buffet is dreadful and very very pricey. The hot meals on the buffet were cold or tepid at best and at 1500 baht (AU$70) no drinks included, it's 1200 baht overpriced. Complaining doesn't help as the quality doesn't and hasn't changed.
When guests stay for 2 weeks or more the menus are boring and somehow don't fit the beach scene. There was a Beach BBQ, but not once was a BBQ served. Apparently this only happens in peak season, but the signs remain.
Shading over the adult pools would give some relief from the constant sun. Otherwise most people seemed to hang out under the child's pool which was shaded
Some places I go to I have a really hard time sleeping because I can’t wait to wake up in the morning, just like my kids on Christmas Eve! Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is definitely one of these places. Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is the perfect choice if you are looking for a large resort with a private long stretch of white sandy beach on the Andaman Sea plus plenty of amenities and day-trip excursions available to choose from. This is definitely a family hotel with excellent entertainment and dining options. The resort has 10 restaurants and bars including Japanese Teppanyaki, Thai specialties, Italian trattoria, seafood, pizza and a poolside restaurant with nightly themed dinners.
I must say the pools are quite impressive as it occupies a plentiful portion of the hotel. The grounds of Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort are relatively large and lush compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Phuket. It takes about 20-minutes to take a stroll from one end to the other, you will notice the main restaurant area by the pool, beach restaurants and bars, cabanas, and beautiful palm tress hanging over the water for the perfect photo op along with thoughtful treats and perks, such as water sports, hidden bar with drinks, coconut stands, and lounge chairs throughout the beach.
We chose to stay in this resort over Christmas to learn more about this side of the island since the other half was spent at the Rosewood Phuket located in Tri Trang Beach. Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is a true oceanfront hotel and extremely secluded. Hotel guests get to enjoy a range of facilities and recreational activities such as fitness club, an archery range, a ball court, a spa with relaxing treatments, mini-golf and a driving range, tennis and squash courts, Thai cooking classes and art classes.
