A 30-minute drive from the bustle of Phuket town, the family-run Ayara Kamala Resort showcases Thailand’s natural assets, from the fresh seafood served at the Cradle restaurant and the organic treatments at the spa to the Andaman Sea views from the infinity pool. Local designer Khun V has created 42 stylish guestrooms that range from simple but chic balcony rooms to vast Grand Pool Villas. And Khun V’s daughter, who trained at the Swiss Hotel Management School, brings expert hospitality skills to the mix. Hot days and sultry nights see guests cooling off at the Ayara Parlour (which has a 360-degree glass-walled upper deck), at the quintessentially Thai spa or at the Overflow bar, where cocktails are a specialty. Guests can also sign up for scuba diving, cooking classes and visits to local tailors.
In the Area
If it’s peace and quiet you’re looking for in Phuket, then Kamala is just the spot, with its villagey atmosphere and a smattering of seafood shacks and shops. The top place to dine is the low-key, family-run Charoen Seafood restaurant, which has been serving the freshest seafood for the past 20 years. Families will enjoy the fantastically kitsch Phuket Fantasea theme park. If high culture is more your cup of tea, it’s worth hopping over to nearby Phuket town for a wander around its Chinese temples, Portuguese shop houses and cool new boutiques and cafés; try the China Inn Café for lunch and Suay for a contemporary Thai dinner.
How to Get There
We are from Australia, Adelaide; we had the pleasure of dealing with Marsha for our wedding Ceremony, Reception & Accommodation. The communication when we were back home in Australia was 100% she is impressive. Instant replies and made us both feel very comfortable in progress.
Marsha is AMAZING very humble and beautiful. Nothing was too hard or impossible she did everything in her power to make our dreams come true on our wedding day, and I can't thank you enough. Your team and staff were fantastic also and very accommodating and made us feel very special and loved.
If anyone is thinking about getting married overseas? This place is worth it. Don't pass it by without giving it a look and a chat with Marsha you won't be disappointed. Even if you want a get with the family or a romantic trip this place wins hands down.
We will see you very soon for out one year wedding anniversary ❤️
The Ayara Kamala was the perfect setting for our wedding, perched upon the hills with the most spectacular views of the andaman sea you will ever see! The staff were incredible, attentive and so thoughtful!
Masha was amazing at coordinating our wedding and the communication to us in Australia was sensational! We were even sent home with a framed wedding photo as a goodbye gift. Amazing personal touch!
The food was the most incredible dishes we’ve eaten, and our 50 guests couldn’t agree more!
The Spa at the resort is also amazing providing the bridal party with the best body scrubs and massages ever!
If you’re looking for an indulgent stay, this is the place! We stayed in the Grand pool villa - AMAZING !
I have stayed at Ayara Kamala for 1 Day with my husband and 2 year-old girl.
We're really appreciated with the kind and friendly staff since we have parked our car.
We're escorted to the room by a reception (K. Pakkard)
She was really good and helpful. We got the room "Deluxe Ocean View" - Really Ocean View and all amenities were provided very well by the housekeeping.
All in all, if we have the opportunity to stay at Kamala, we will select Ayara Kamala.
Amazing view, wonderful environment & very relaxing place to stay! People are very cooperating. Easily can get Muslim food. Shopping is also not that much expensive. Here you will get street shops as well as shopping mall. Foods are really delicious!
Phuket is the city of sea beaches. Everywhere you will found a sea beach with different name. You can enjoy live Tiger show, Fun car racing.
One special note for travellers: 13th March is a special day of Phuket. In 1785 two sisters, known as heroines who led the defence of the island against the Burmese and free Phuket island. There is a monument of the heroines sisters in the city. And every year on this day Phuket’s citizens arrange a festival and celebration to celebrate their victory. We were lucky enough to attend this event. You will get all kind of traditional food in this festival. All people wear traditional dresses in this occasion. You will found a dress-rent shop before entering the festival area. They give rent traditional dresses to attend the fest. It is really a good experience for any traveler.
Though it is actually a island of beaches, you will not find any good qualities of wash room or toilets everywhere. You have to come back to your hotel or villa to get fresh . And don’t forget to take plenty of fresh coconut water. It is amazing!
