Overview

The Review

Set on six acres of meticulously manicured grounds in the heart of the city, the Sukhothai Bangkok shuts out the mayhem, street noise and daunting traffic of Bangkok.

The hotel takes its design cues (and name) from the legendary capital of 14th-century Siam, which was known for its resplendent palaces, reflection pools, open-air arcades and symmetrical colonnades. Inspired by this golden age, the hotel features lots of natural materials, including teak, marble and bronze.

At nearly 500 square feet, my Deluxe Studio feels more like a chic apartment than a hotel — it’s equipped with all a business exec or chic traveler might need, including a fax with private phone number, a Bose CD player, LCD television and a generous bathroom with separate tub and jet shower.

For a true escape, I opt for a pre-bedtime massage at the excellent Spa Botanica while my travel companion relaxes at the 82-foot outdoor infinity pool.

Though Bangkok is known for its amazing street food — indeed, eating is practically a national pastime — no visit is complete without a meal at Celadon, the hotel’s signature restaurant. Seeming to almost float on a lotus pond, the restaurant provides a serene setting for sampling a modern take on traditional dishes. From flower-shaped dumplings stuffed with minced chicken to a custardlike seafood dish steamed in a banana leaf cup, you simply can’t go wrong.

It’s reflective of the Sukhothai experience on the whole: indulgent, serene and pure Thailand, right in the heart of Bangkok.

Chocolate buffet in the Sukhothai hotel. Good foods and sweets line. Many choices of chocolate drinks for both hot and ice with so nice chocolatier. Service is also warm and friendly; Khun Fai. One of must-go afternoon tea in Bangkok.

Great Hotel

This was our first time to the Hotel. We had lunch buffet at the Colonnade. The restaurant was classic and elegant. The food were rich, fresh and delicious. Plenty of seafood and the Thai food were most attractive and tasty. The services were good and professional. A young lady, Tukta,, was very nice, polite and helpful. She helped us to register as member of the Hotel. From that onward, I received many messages from the Hotel, including special discount and special offers on various services from the Hotel,. All were very informative. We appreciated very much to her warm greeting. Both enjoyed a happy and leisure time there. We sure to visit again and hope to spend a few days staying in the hotel in the future. Highly recommend.

The Best Hotel I have ever stayed.

The Sukhothai is so sophisticated, clean, and full of kindness from the hotel employees.

All of their employees I encountered speak perfect
English and moreover, they are professional in
their service.

Hotel rooms are very specious and luxurious. Res
taurants are excellent anywhere within the hotel.
Cafe was also nice and I had light meals that were
also 5 star quality.

Limousine service is done by Mercedes and if you
wish, hotel can arrange you the service on the way
to and from the airport.

Thank you Sukhothai!! You are the best.

I have had a chance to stay at the new Club Wing! The Club Lounge staffs were nice and friendly that made me comfortable. Especially, when I was at the lounge in the evening cocktail time, Ms. Ree offered me complimentary cocktail as a special drink for tasting (and it was also tasty). Moreover, breakfast made me can't stop eating! Mr. Bus recommended me the nice dishes. The room was elegant by decoration and full of facilities. Anyway, I would like to say THANK YOU for the memorable experience and your minded-service. :) Hope to be back there!
