Located in the centre of Bangkok, surrounded by modern architecture, stood tall among other high rise buildings, this hotel is visually stunning and welcoming at the same time. Within walking distance (15min slow walk) to Central World/Erawan, be ready to spoil for food choices, be very ready.
We arrived days before the ASEAN Summit, and many government officials were seen flocking in to Bangkok. Coincidentally, the delegates from my country were staying in this same hotel and were checking in at the same time as us. Staff of the hotel had to court us aside to make ways for them, for security reasons, obviously. He kept apologising to us and explaining it was a security protocol. We were immediately impressed by their courteous.
Asbwe booked the club accesed room, the check in took place in their club lounge, exclusive for club accesed guests. Our room was upgraded to premium room to encourage us to book directly with them. During the check in, staffs at the lounge were all very friendly, smiled all the time and polite. From 5:30pm-7:30pm, free flow of food and drinks for guests with champaign included. Finger food were abundant and lets just say one can skip dinner if can't stop nibbling the wonderful selection here. At that moment, we knew that we chose the right hotel.
The premium club room was huge, overlooking Bangkok city scape. You will be greeted with your name displaying on the TV. The king size bed can easily sleeps 3 persons. All lightings were controlled by a console beside the bed. As this hotel was part of a japanese chain, the room was decoration and design were heavily influenced by Japanese culture, right down to their automated toilet bowl. Toilet and shower were in 2 seperate locations. Shower room contained a tub and a rain shower section. Powder section was equally big as well.
The bed was very comfortable. Our request of 4 down feather pillows were granted. Gosh they were so fluffy! We may have problem dragging ourselves out of bed!
As for breakfast choices, we had 3 locations to choose from. The main restaurant served quite a huge varieties of inter continental and eastern food choices. The second location is club lounge, with a much smaller selection. Last but not least, is the Michellin 1 Star Japanese restaurant. This is the most unique offering and it got us excited. Overall the food quality of all 3 locations are acceptable except for the japanese restaurant, which i would say its unique and delicious.
Overall, it was an extremely pleasant stay. We had to drag ourselves from the ultra comfy bed every morning, just to drag ourselves out again from the Japanese restaurant included breakfast!
Highly recommended, and 5 star award well deserved!
