In a prime position at the intersection of Bangkok’s Sukhumvit and Asoke roads, the Continent is a hip high-rise hotel with mod rooms that offer some of the best views of the city. The marble-floored lobby brings together Art Deco chandeliers, an impressive gold mosaic-style reception desk, shelves stocked with travel books and a bank of iMacs. As at many hotels in the Thai capital, most of the action takes place on the roof. The top two floors are home to a saltwater infinity pool, a cocktail bar and a two-tier nightclub.
Bed and Bath
With four design themes — Ocean, Desert, Space and Forest — the 153 guestrooms are as diverse as they are colorful. Thick silk blackout curtains are the perfect cure for jetlag. Pulled back, they reveal breathtaking views. The decor is bold: striped carpets, mirrored bed panels and graphic print wallpaper, and the bathrooms feature name brand toiletries, walk-in showers and both handheld and rainfall showerheads. A glass partition separates the bedroom from the bathroom in the Premium Rooms, and Executive Rooms feature 180 degree views and are equipped with sofabeds. Sky Rooms are located between floors 26 and 32 and offer the best views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
There are buzzy dining and nightlife venues from the ground floor up to the roof. Have your morning coffee in the lobby-level Compass Lounge, then head to the Medinii restaurant for breakfast. (In the afternoon and evening it is transformed into an elegant Italian-Asian fusion eatery.) The elevated outdoor infinity pool on the 37th floor is surrounded by lounge chairs and cabanas with billowing white cotton curtains, and there’s a compact fitness center on the floor below. Axis & Spin is a two-tier nightclub on floors 38 and 39. Kick back on a comfy sofa at Axis or climb the spiral staircase to Spin to hit the dance floor or sip a sundowner on the terrace.
In the Area
Located at the intersection of Sukhumvit Road and Asoke, the hotel is within easy reach of Bangkok’s top restaurants, nightclubs and bars. The Asoke Skytrain station and the Sukhumvit MRT station are both just a two-minute walk away, and the lines that stop there cover most of the sprawling city. The luxe Emporium shopping center is within walking distance and is adjacent to Benjasiri Park, one of Bangkok’s largest green spaces. For a more authentic shopping experience, head to the Khlong Lat Mayom floating market. The ruins of the ancient Thai capital, Ayutthaya, are 60 miles north of Bangkok and make an excellent daytrip.
How to Get There
The feeling from the minute we walked into this hotel was wonderful! Each individual we interacted with provided guidance and were extremely welcoming! The food was absolutely amazing and they provided any accommodation my wife or myself asked for. The bartender and waiter at Axis and Spin, k. Noom, was remarkable. His service was impeccable and he guided us to places in order to have a great time. We ended up returning to the bar at the hotel because we realized we felt most comfortable and had a better time at the bar/restaurant at The Continental Hotel.
We also want to shout out the assistant manager, Nuch, for being so kind and welcoming to us as well.
This was our first time visiting Thailand and we could not be more grateful and appreciative for the individuals who made us feel so welcomed and presented with true kindness.
"Good location with great staff"
Location is good it's near by b.t.s, mrt and terminal 21. The problem what I faced were the elevators there are 2 elevator but only 1 of it in service so that took so long to wait. But the staff are very good especially Ashish(trainee) at the pool. He was very professional and good, in fact he is a trainee there but the way he work is so professional! So thumbs up for the staff, but the hotel itself could use some refreshing touches.
I stay 4 night in this hotel and I think will be my first choice when I come Bangkok. Perfect position in Sukhumvit road with BTS Asoke and MRT walking distance about 100 mt, that is perfect when traffic is out of controll. The standard room is not too big but very nice style and clean, breakfast is good with many choices. Staff are very nice too.
Spent five nights at this hotel earlier this month. The welcoming was outstanding with a welcoming drink and very warm greatings. The check inn was fast and good. We got a nice room at the 27th. floor, called Argentina. The room was spacious and very well decorated. The bathroom was good but could have been cleaner and there was a few things broken there, like the small mirror and the paper holder. The breakfast was very good and the Skyline lounge was great. With an access to the rooftop bar you got free drinks and a nice food in the evening which can be recommended. The service there were very good as well at the hotel in general. The only thing that was really negative was the elevator. There are only two elevators for a 38 stock hotel and one was broken my whole stay! I can’t understand why it wasn’t fixed??? In general this is a very good 4⭐️ hotel, very good located and close to the public transport (Skytrain) which was very convenient. I will definitely stay there again and can therefore recommend it.
Not our 1st choice for hotel in the area but due to last minute booking this was our only choice. The rooms are ok but can be cleaner, due to its dark colour toilet if u don’t take a closer look u can’t tell that it needs a good scrub down.
We stayed on level 10, we had 3 peaceful nights sleep. The pool is really small, end up decided not to swim after checking it out.
1 thing to highlight its the slow housekeeping. We went out after breakfast for some shopping, expecting our room to be made up when we return after lunch but it was not made up. We had to remind house keeping when we went out late afternoon to make up our room. This happens everyday during our stay.
Location is pretty good as it’s very near T21.
Overall I find it’s a little over priced for the service, room and breakfast provided. Likely we paid for the hotel location more than other things
