How to Get There
Great service, rooms and pool but are in need of some fix due to fagin paint, lashing watertaps and so on.
Great gym(but hot) with steambath and sauna incl.
Didn't use the spa facilities ex. massage.
The breakfast where superb. A huge mix of international foods to choose from.
Might be back again(third time)
There are several conference rooms/ballrooms for meetings, and that was the reason for selecting the hotel. The personnel were very friendly and happy. They were willing to help out no matter what the request. The facilities include an above-ground pool (on the 8th floor!), made of see-through plexiglass for a unique experience. There are sauna and spa facilities with spaces for the usual Thai-massage! A gym has several machines and cycles. There is a large dining room, that serves a very substantial "eastern-and-western" style breakfast, along with serving other meals during the day and evening. The rooms are comfortable, although the design takes some getting used to: the sink has no surround and there is a mirror, but it is so far away, without good lighting, you cannot really use it (i.e., for putting in contact lenses or make-up). The king bed is so large, that there is very little in the way of space to move. I never understand why there is only 1 chair in the room, when there are 2 guests! There is a microwave and a full refrigerator and freezer, along with an in-room individual coffee maker. The toilet is an electronic version, that does everything for you (including having a heated seat and bidet!). There are numerous cubby holes, but no real drawer space. An in-room safe works well. Overall, this is a great location, although maybe too trendy on the design side that it leaves practical living out.
We went to the wedding ceremony at S31. The hotel is well located near Phrom Phong BTS station. The parking is adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ballroom is beautiful and well decorated. The buffet was acceptable.
My husband and I love to travel and we at first we’re overwhelmed with the many options of hotels in Bangkok. We found S31 Sukhumvit Hotel and booked it based on the reviews and location. We arrived at 3:00AM and we were greeted with smiles and hospitality I haven’t experienced. We had the Double Premiere Room with a King size(GIANT KING SIZE) bed. The room was cozy, it not only looked but felt and smelled very clean the sheets were clean and comfortable. We even ordered room service, which was delicious, and arrived quickly. It was a nice hot delicious Thai dinner at 4am. The shower was clean nice hot water, good water pressure. The next morning we had breakfast. The food options are varied and cater to a number of different cultures( American, Chinese, Japanese) coffee was delicious and fruit was fresh, juicy and delicious. We were able to access two different metro stations both abt 10min walking distance to the hotel. We also were very close to one of the many luxury malls. This hotel checked all my boxes. It was such a nice first impression to Bangkok. It helps me to understand why Thailand is known as the land of a thousand smiles.
S31 Sukhumvit is in a really convenient location, close to the Emporium shopping center as well as the metro.
Our party of 4 stayed in the Family Suite for 2 nights. It was our first stop of a two-week trip after flying over from the US. Upon arrival, the suite looked amazing - bright, spacious, nicely furnished bedrooms, etc. We were impressed with the private rooftop with saltwater pool and sauna in our suite.
After the initial awe of the room faded and we got more settled in, we started to notice things that gave us the impression that the room probably wasn't booked or maintained on a regular basis. Things like dusty surfaces, water stains/bubbling paint behind curtains, and so on. We called the front desk to see if they could get someone to clean and to their credit they sent someone the same night - along with a nice fruit & dessert tray!
While the private rooftop and pool were a nice perk, it was pretty bare bones. There were two patio chairs and an umbrella and that was all the decoration up there. Again, you could see water/rust stains all around the rooftop and pool area too. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk those things up to the Bangkok weather though. It's still a nice perk to have.
One major downside - the doors to our suite didn't seem to close properly. You would have to really pull the door closed or else it would just never click closed. The cleaning staff would constantly leave our doors unlocked - we would come back for the night and notice our doors were never completely closed. Luckily we locked our valuables in the safes and nothing ever went missing.
All in all this is a nice, basic hotel if you're looking for a convenient location. We definitely splurged a bit to get the Family Suite, but we were here for a birthday trip - so the splurge was worth it for us. The staff was helpful and friendly, and there is breakfast included which is nice.
