Central Bangkok beauty with a spa, 10 bars and restaurants and easy access to world-class boutiques

The Lowdown

The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok’s modern geometric façade belies its contemporary Thai-influenced interiors. All 380 rooms are outfitted with elegant teak furnishings, travertine floors and marble baths. The resort’s outdoor pool and stocked fitness center provide ample athletic diversions, while the concierge can arrange tee times and transport to one of Bangkok’s top-rated courses, including Lakewood Country Club, for those seeking a little fresh air. Ten restaurants and bars ensure you’ll never go hungry; the French-inspired Tables whips up a rocking brunch with dishes like lobster bisque and champagne risotto. And the full-service i.sawan spa has treatments to suit every traveler. But the hotel’s real draw is its proximity to Bangkok’s best shopping, including lobby-level boutiques and easy access to the area’s top arcades.

In the Area

Just beyond the Grand Hyatt compound, the gilded Erawan Shrine features the Brahma god Than Tao Mahaprom and is thought to bring good fortune to visitors. Nearby, the 18th-century National Museum is home to the world’s most extensive collection of Thai artifacts and gives proper context to any Bangkok visit. For families, Siam Ocean World is home to the region’s largest aquarium, while Lumphini Park is an oasis amid the city’s financial district, offering a playground and boat rentals on the lake. Shoppers will be spoiled for choice between Erawan Bangkok Mall, adjacent to the hotel, and the boutiques of high-end Gaysorn Plaza just across the street.

Solid hotel in a great location

Stayed here on a short business trip. Location is very central and also close to the nicest park in the city centre - good for an early morning run. It also has a BTS station within 2 mins walk, which is a better option than getting a cab as the traffic is terrible.

Rooms were well kitted out and very spacious. Restaurants were good and other facilities all what you would expect at a 5 star Grand Hyatt. Staff friendly and helpful.

I would definitely return if in Bangkok

Great Location

The hotel was in a great location and the room was above average. The hotel provided a mobile phone with data on it which was really handy. Be careful of people who engage you in conversation as you step out of the hotel and casually drop into the conversation the wonders of the Thai Product Centre which is having a sale.

Nice hotel with a nice location

Taxi from BKK Bangkok airport to the hotel around 600 BHT (including tolls) and takes around 45 minutes.
Check in on the 17th floor Club Lounge was smooth and no problems.
You have a choice of breakfast in the Club Lounge or full buffet breakfast in the lobby restaurant. Magnificent choices and variety of food in the lobby restaurant for buffet breakfast.
Great sunny large pool area.
There is a 7/11 just around the corner if you wish to purchase any incidentals.
TIP: On arrival at BKK airport only change a small amount into Thai Baht as all the money changers at the airport have the same exchange rate. There are plenty of licensed money changers close to the hotel who will give you up to 10% more.
Great position and close walking distance to sky train, MBK shopping centre, Paragon food court and one world shopping.
Good selection of food, wines and spirits at the Club Lounge on the 17th floor.
Excellent staff in all sections of the hotel.
Our only complaint was that the suite had too many floor to ceiling mirrors and we kept walking into the mirrors all the time.
We enjoyed the stay and is on our list of favourite hotels in Bangkok.
