The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok’s modern geometric façade belies its contemporary Thai-influenced interiors. All 380 rooms are outfitted with elegant teak furnishings, travertine floors and marble baths. The resort’s outdoor pool and stocked fitness center provide ample athletic diversions, while the concierge can arrange tee times and transport to one of Bangkok’s top-rated courses, including Lakewood Country Club, for those seeking a little fresh air. Ten restaurants and bars ensure you’ll never go hungry; the French-inspired Tables whips up a rocking brunch with dishes like lobster bisque and champagne risotto. And the full-service i.sawan spa has treatments to suit every traveler. But the hotel’s real draw is its proximity to Bangkok’s best shopping, including lobby-level boutiques and easy access to the area’s top arcades.
In the Area
Just beyond the Grand Hyatt compound, the gilded Erawan Shrine features the Brahma god Than Tao Mahaprom and is thought to bring good fortune to visitors. Nearby, the 18th-century National Museum is home to the world’s most extensive collection of Thai artifacts and gives proper context to any Bangkok visit. For families, Siam Ocean World is home to the region’s largest aquarium, while Lumphini Park is an oasis amid the city’s financial district, offering a playground and boat rentals on the lake. Shoppers will be spoiled for choice between Erawan Bangkok Mall, adjacent to the hotel, and the boutiques of high-end Gaysorn Plaza just across the street.
How to Get There
I have been to the Grand Hyatt Erawan a few times and each time they really make you feel at home. The hospitality shown by all the staff at Grand Hyatt Erawan is excellent. Tea Room Erawan and Table Grill served really excellent good Thai and French cuisines respectively. Each time I visit Bangkok, Grand Hyatt Erawan will be my choice as it Home away from Home.
We only had 2 nights here as part of a Luxury Escapes package but our impression was that it was well located close to many shops and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent and most of the staff were very helpful. We had a nice drink and chat with the friendly staff at the Spasso bar on the lower level. The Erawan Shrine located adjacent to the hotel is definitely worth a visit.
For a hotel like this, you would expect at least clean bed sheets to start with. We noticed there was some debris on the bed sheet under the pillows where we stayed the 1st night. After complaining to the staff, he didn't seem to respond much or make it up some other ways. The food in the club lounge was delicious. The location was right in the downtown which was convenient. I would try other hotels next time but maybe in general the staff just don't like going out of their way to give you an exceptional experience? Just expected a little more, at minimum clean bed sheets. that's all. Most of the staff there were pretty decent, nice and polite.
We had our company meeting at Grand Hyatt and it was such an absolute delight. All the participants enjoyed our stay very much and were overwhelmed by the excellent service provided during our meeting. The only downside was that there was simply too much food and we requested for them to remove our coffee breaks. Their banquet staff did that and gave us fruits instead. Always a delight to stay with the Grand Hyatt.
The room is well presented and clean. Bed comfortable.
The staff are obliging and polite. The hotel is big and extremely busy so I felt a little like a little fish in a big, busy pond.
Breakfast was good but not at the same standard of some other hotels in Asia.
Good position but I think next time I would like to be right at one of the BTS stations, rather then a 10min walk away. This is a personal preference.
