Overview

A sleek retreat in Bangkok's Silom district, just steps from some of the city's best shopping and nightlife

The Lowdown

In a city as vibrant as Bangkok, you’ll need a luxurious retreat to return to after your days (and nights) exploring the buzzing streets and lively markets. Housed in an impressive high-rise, the four-star Furama Silom offers an elegant, Thai-inspired space that’s designed to relax and rejuvenate, recharging you for another day of sightseeing in the city. The guest rooms here are spacious and comfortable, with elegant décor and plush bedding to ensure a perfect night’s rest. On the hotel’s 20th floor, high above the rush of the streets below, a pool and a lounge area await. Here, you can enjoy a nightcap over views over Bangkok’s twinkling skyline, while the reflections from the towering skyscrapers dance on the water’s surface. Excitement is never too far away, though, as an abundance of city life lies around the hotel; the famous Patpong Night Market is a short walk from your door, CentralWorld shopping plaza is just a few stops away and there are plenty of bars and clubs lining the streets of Silom.

Rooms

The stylish Deluxe rooms feature plush king-sized beds and a warm color palette, creating an inviting retreat for you to kick back in. You’ll enjoy a gleaming glass-encased bathroom, with both a bathtub and a shower, as well as impressive views of the city from the large picture windows.

Dining

Located on the second floor of the hotel, Rama@Silom offers a diverse range of cuisine, from traditional Thai to international favorites. The lavish buffet breakfast is a must, and it’ll provide you with the energy you need for a busy day around the city. On the rooftop, next to the pool and the lounge area, grab some bar bites and creative cocktails from De Sky @ Furama Silom. You’ll enjoy panoramic views of Bangkok, and it’s the perfect spot for enjoying an expertly mixed cocktail from the bar.

Location

There’s no time to be bored in Bangkok’s Silom – with traditional attractions, shopping, nightlife and no shortage of spas and wellness centers, there’s always something to do here. The Chong Nonsi BTS Skytrain Station is just a short walk from the hotel, and you can be whisked off to the city’s popular shopping havens, such as CentralWorld, MBK Shopping Centre and Siam Paragon, in mere minutes. You can also mingle with locals and sharpen your bargaining skills at the nearby Patpong Night Market, where you’ll find a plethora of souvenirs, bags, shoes and tasty street food. There’s even a Thai cooking school across the street, so you can take some of those recipes home with you.

Love Furama Hotel Silom. Five Stars
Reviewed 4 days ago

I've been staying at Furama Hotel Silom since October 2015. I usually stay in the executive suite which is very big and more like an apartment with a lounge room and small kitchen with sweeping views of the city. This hotel is excellent value for money and offers great friendly service. There's an amazing complimentary buffet breakfast in their huge restaurant which offers everything under the sun including a wide dejection of delicious French pastries, many hot meal dishes, cereals, freshly ground coffees. It has a rooftop pool with a BBQ meal all day, gym and sauna that I should have but didn't use once. My wife and I love the place and frequently return when we aren't even staying there for their buffet dinner which costs 690 baht per person including a complimentary drink. They are kind enough to give me a 10% discount on that because I'm a Furama Club member. The Christmas buffet dinner was really great with turkey and all the trimmings and they even have complimentary Xmas socks full of candy and little edible figures of Donald Duck. Really kind people. It's recently been renovated. The bathrooms are dated but clean. It's my second home in Bangkok. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Safe, clean, central stay

We stayed at the Furama for 4 nights in July. This hotel is located centrally with easy access to the major train stations and airport. It s also a safe place to walk by day and night with great options for eating, massages and shopping. It’s convenient for river access and keeps you away from the noise of the city while still being in the heart. 15 mins walk to the river. 15bat river journey to the royal palace etc. by night from anywhere in the city 100-200 bat in a tuk tuk. We will stay again. The rooms are spacious, clean, well maintained and excellent value for money. Breakfast is good. The pool is good and the gym has what you need for a work out.wifi also excellent.

For the love of location !!

Don’t expect a wow ! But it does the job , nice clean well serviced room , early check in NO WAY breakfast BASIC
DONT have nothing to do which involves anyone from the reception or any staff for that matter they don’t understand you much and honestly you wouldn’t need them ....it’s full marks for the room and location
bathrooms are beautifully done up but kind of lacks privacy ( large gaps between curtains )if travelling with older children .

Not bad at all

Overall, this is a good hotel, although certain areas are a little dated and look as though they could do with a bit of a spruce.

The check-in was easy enough and I was informed that they had upgraded my room to a suite, which was nice. This room was huge, nicely decorated; however, still felt a little old and dark. Also, the room was on a smoking floor (Floor 14), so the next morning I asked to move into a non-smoking room, which was organised without a problem. The second room was a similarly decorated, but a little brighter and more comfortable, as I was travelling alone and felt like I was rattling around the suite a bit!

The breakfast was not great, a little canteen like, but I guess quite standard for this kind of hotel. The rooftop pool area was pleasant, although, like a few areas could do with a bit of care and attention to make it look a bit more impressive.

Overall, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the hotel itself was fine.
