Overview

The Review

Dream taps into the playfully chic side of Bangkok. Mood lighting lends a nightclub vibe, from the lobby on up to the guestrooms (blue tones are said to help induce sleep).

The rooms are split between two neighboring buildings, Dream 1 and 2, opened in 2006 and 2007, respectively. The hotel’s facilities are split between the towers, so book in Dream 1 or in a suite in Dream 2 for easiest access to the pool and gym. Otherwise, you’ll have to cross a small road.

As you would expect, given the hotel’s name, they take sleep very seriously here. The rooms are focused on low-slung beds piled high with down comforters and pillows swathed in 300-thread-count linens.{“type”:”img-inline”,”src”:”/static/images/product/properties/3147/prop-71160-1347632436-full.jpg”,”width”:”275″,”caption”:”Fun after dark can be had at the hotel’s bar or the small but sleek rooftop pool.”}

You may find it hard to turn in, though, given the hotel’s location, a short walk or cab ride from Bangkok’s famous nightlife. Also fun after dark is the hotel’s small but sleek rooftop pool, with its funky underwater lighting and twinkling views of the city (note: lack of shade during daytime hours can be a problem). Take a swim, grab a cocktail and order Thai comfort food from the hotel’s Flava Restaurant.

Dream’s location, on Soi 15 in the Asok/Nana neighborhood, is convenient, but it can feel a bit touristy. However, you’re a five-minute walk from both the SkyTrain and underground stations, making transportation a snap.

After six years, the Dream lacks a bit of the edge it had at first, but the friendly staff, location and generous rooms offer a welcome respite from the urban jungle of Bangkok.

A dream in Bangkok

Check in was a breeze - the room was excellent and the bed was great - loved the blue lighting in the room - best of all, the roof top pool was exceptional, especially during the water festival pool party. Finally the breakfast buffet was top notch.

Good Location, Bad reception welcome

I booked the hotel understanding the service here was excellent, i would second that minus the guy at the reception who was trying to show he was a grade above us. we reached the hotel at 12 pm approx and asked if they could help us with booking a cab or shuttle for safari which we had already booked but not the transfer. After understanding that we had already booked the package, he was least interested to get us a cab and took his own sweet time.

No welcome drink, not even mentioning there is some refreshing drinks just opposite the reception for our kids or family.

Clean and Comfortable

Change to this hotel at the last minutes, this is the most comfortable and clean hotel I ever stay in Bangkok, it is kinda pricey and the room is kinda small, but really worth the price! Booking online is cheaper than walk-in prices.

Soso

Rooms are sufficient, but showers are not fully enclosed so water sprayed out pretty frequently. Hallways smell funky. Front desk speaks okay English, and was not helpful in finding safe drivers (ours ended up getting in a fender bender). The best part of our stay was the delicious breakfast buffet.
