How to Get There
First timers in Thailand we chose the Century Park for its location between airport and city centre. Asked for a room on as high a floor as possible and was given a clean spacious suite on the 19th floor with great views of the city. Staff were always helpful and polite. Bar prices are steep. Breakfast was good with a broad selection to cater for many tastes. Our early departure on day two meant we couldn't enjoy the benefit. The taxi dude on the door is however all about the money. You'll always get a better deal in a tuk tuk or metered taxi. All in all not a bad stop. Would use again and save a few BAHT with my new found local taxi wisdom. Give the dude on the door a body swerve.
2 night stay for first time in Bangkok & booked by our travel agent. Hotel is fine, spacious room but a little tired, comfy bed & fantastic power shower. Location is not the best for sight seeing - the Sky train is a 5 min walk away. Concierge staff helpful & will arrange taxis & agree the price - expect up to 200Tb to get to centre. Locally there are a few shops but not many restaurants but it is perfectly safe to walk around.
We stayed for 3 nights in September. Check in was fine, they told us they had upgraded us.. dunno if they had but the view from our room was amazing! Room was clean and we were happy with it.
Buffet breakfast was good but you had to be down early doors otherwise it was mobbed with people on business stays. When we ate dinner at the hotel in the same restaurant where breakfast is served it was good too.
The pool was nice, shallow but could be cleaner. The staff were nice and the food at the pool was lovely!
I had read reviews before going and downloaded the GRAB app to get taxis around the city. The hotel door staff took the huff when we said we had taxis booked but we shrugged them off as we weren’t for getting scammed.
I would stay again as it was a good hotel it just wasn’t near any of the main sights. Taxis on gran app were fine though even if we sat in traffic for over an hour at times the taxi would only be about £5
