In Bangkok’s Huai Khwang district, the AVANI Atrium is a 23-story high-rise hotel with spacious guestrooms looking out at the skyline. The swish lobby area features marble columns, abstract metal light sculptures and a grand piano, while the communal areas are decorated with contemporary-meets-colonial furnishings. The focal point in the guestrooms are the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer panoramic views of the city. Plush taupe and deep purple fabrics and zigzag print rugs decorate the rooms, and the bathrooms come with large windows, soaking tubs and bathrobes. Cool off in the outdoor pool or grab a drink and a light bite from the poolside bar. Other dining options include Public, an all-day spot for à la carte fare, buffet offerings and boozy Sunday brunches, and the Pantry@AVANI for snacks and drinks.
In the Area
The property is located on New Petchburi Road, and the nearest metro station is less than a 10-minute walk away, for easy access to Bangkok’s main sights. Sukhumvit is a 15-minute taxi ride, and you can reach Silom’s bars and clubs in 20 minutes. Relax with a traditional Thai massage at the So Thai Spa, a 20-minute walk away. Farther afield, don’t miss the Grand Palace, a majestic collection of temples and ancient palaces; it’s also the location of Bangkok’s national monument, the Emerald Buddha, and the National Gallery, which features a wonderful selection of ancient and contemporary Thai artworks. If you’re visiting on a weekend, be sure to check out Chatuchak Market, where you can sample local delicacies, browse for souvenirs and shop like a local.
How to Get There
I had a regrettable incident back at this hotel in 2016 when the bell hop forgot to load a bag into my uber to the airport...The response then was rather poor. I thought - probably never this hotel again. But I decided to give it a second chance in 2018 with a short stay - and was glad to know that maybe some things have improved. I was happy to have booked a few more stays this year.
However, my most recent stay in June 2019 was a disaster. First, I was stranded at the airport waiting for 45 minutes because the hotel-arranged transport was late - it caused me to miss an important meeting. I was met with apologies from a nonchalant staff member on the phone and it almost seemed like he was expecting me to understand Bangkok traffic gridlock. No, I refuse to understand it - it was simply unprofessional. If a guest is landing at 1245pm, then the pick-up needs to be there at that specific time.
Second: As a GHA Black Member, I was disappointed to know that there were no more upgrades to corner suites and also accompanying benefits for upgraded executive rooms only upon check-in to the hotel. I have top tier elite status with Marriott and Hilton and they do not hold out on their elites like that. I think Avani Atrium's's move to restrict benefits is remarkably cheap: it's being penny wise but pound foolish! To deny what could have been a loyal customer the benefits that keep them returning seemed myopic. Apparently, there were changes to the hotel policy just this year - this is a sad devaluation and I would have gone to another hotel if I had known earlier. I would have been treated much better elsewhere.
Third: The front desk manager offered lounge access for my dismal experience with the airport transfer. I was staying for 3 nights, but she offered only 2 nights. I do not get it - if you want to make it up to your guest, why not go all the way? I pushed back, but she did not budge. She was generally unfriendly. Left a bad taste in my mouth - and was unimpressed with her efforts at recovery. At this point, I would have switched hotels if not for my friend who found himself too indolent to move.
So the good news is that I have decided that enough is enough, I just cannot bring myself to book here again. The bad news is that I have another reservation already booked for this same property next month. It's non-refundable so I will simply bear this nonsense for another 3 nights here.
I am writing to express my appreciation for the quality of service you offered me the days of my stay at the Avani Atrium Bangkok Hotel.
I went to Bangkok for a dentist treatment after treatment I couldn't eat any hard food so had to order something from GRAB Food sadly menu was all written in Thai.
those staff I mentioned above help me ordering suitable food for a tooth.
Not just that this hotel is really good for the value. it's my second time staying in this hotel. It was a good decision; I enjoyed the peace and quiet I needed, offered in all the facilities of your hotel. This definitely added to the excellent service of the staff, allowed me to focus on my dental treatment.
I will definitely recommend your hotel to friends and family, and I’m sure I’ll be back again. I hope to get the same quality of service when I return. Thanks again, see you soon.

Particular thanks to the Lady MAY on Reception for her kindly and softly behavior. Thank you MAY for arranging awesome flowers for my Guest...
