Overview

Bangkok base for budget-conscious Jetsetters, with an outdoor pool and spacious rooms with skyline views

The Lowdown

In Bangkok’s Huai Khwang district, the AVANI Atrium is a 23-story high-rise hotel with spacious guestrooms looking out at the skyline. The swish lobby area features marble columns, abstract metal light sculptures and a grand piano, while the communal areas are decorated with contemporary-meets-colonial furnishings. The focal point in the guestrooms are the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer panoramic views of the city. Plush taupe and deep purple fabrics and zigzag print rugs decorate the rooms, and the bathrooms come with large windows, soaking tubs and bathrobes. Cool off in the outdoor pool or grab a drink and a light bite from the poolside bar. Other dining options include Public, an all-day spot for à la carte fare, buffet offerings and boozy Sunday brunches, and the Pantry@AVANI for snacks and drinks.

In the Area

The property is located on New Petchburi Road, and the nearest metro station is less than a 10-minute walk away, for easy access to Bangkok’s main sights. Sukhumvit is a 15-minute taxi ride, and you can reach Silom’s bars and clubs in 20 minutes. Relax with a traditional Thai massage at the So Thai Spa, a 20-minute walk away. Farther afield, don’t miss the Grand Palace, a majestic collection of temples and ancient palaces; it’s also the location of Bangkok’s national monument, the Emerald Buddha, and the National Gallery, which features a wonderful selection of ancient and contemporary Thai artworks. If you’re visiting on a weekend, be sure to check out Chatuchak Market, where you can sample local delicacies, browse for souvenirs and shop like a local.

Excellent stay

It is a very nice hotel and I loved my stay. It has everything - pool, spa, etc
Hotel staff is friendly and help you when required.
Few may find it as a problem- that there is no tuk tuk on the road in front of the hotel.
But we used metro for commute, and sometimes we asked hotel staff to book our meter taxi

Absolutely amazing hotel, we was staying in the executive lounge on the 23rd floor... and the room was brilliant, clean, spacious, nice big bathroom with an additional rest room, the view was brilliant, we had a corner room with a two view windows which was nice. The staff were brilliant especially a young lady called May and the rest of the girls on reception who were more than happy to assist us. Nice breakfast in morning, you can have a buffet or à la carte menu, loads of variety of dishes to choose from, same applies to the food in the evening but it’s only from 6-9pm including alcohol. You have a Gym and swimming pool on the 4th floor which is nice, not too busy and it has happy hour which always helps. Location wise it’s a bit out of the way so taxi’s are a must to get around to other places which wasn’t too bad. Overall my experience here was brilliant, would definitely recommend if with family or on a business trip, if with lads then maybe not just because of location...

I missed my flight because of their carelessness, they only care about your MONEY !

Food is Ok, room is good with plenty of space.
but here is the problem, the front desk & guest relations employees have no idea what they are doing.
i was there for business (i work at Electrolux) & i only had Sunday free for some sight seeing, i went to the guest relation lady who gave me a map to all the temples to visit around Bangkok, i took a taxi & arrived to the first temple she recommended only to find out that at Sunday the majority of the big temples in Bangkok are exclusively limited to citizens for worshiping & prayers...closed completely to tourists so it was complete waste of time & money.
at check out day, i showed my flight ticket for the front desk & told him that i need taxi going to this airport mentioned in the ticket (i don't speak thai, only english) he requested a taxi for me whose driver doesn't speak English, he took me to the wrong airport (Bangkok has 2 airports). by the time i figured out & took another taxi to the other correct airport i was very late & the gate has already closed....by the way traffic in Bangkok is terrible.
So i had to pay for very expensive taxi for almost 50$ trying to catch my flight, then another 100$ to buy another flight ticket, i called them & i made a complain they kept calling me several times asking me about my name - flight number - room number...etc. & nothing happened at all. no compensation was offered to me at any kind, will definitely not go back there again & will recommend to my management to make a deal with another hotel that respects people & treat them with care.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had booked a premium corner room. Before arrival, I asked for a high floor and also as it was our honeymoon they did a beautiful turndown service. The staff were exceptionally nice and the breakfast was the best I had in Asia. Everything in the hotel ran so smoothly, will 100% go back if I stay in Bangkok again!
