How to Get There
I LOVE the look of this hotel and the room I was in. It's a boutique hotel with an industrial feel. However, my room was drafty. There was a remote to control the room temperature and an air conditioning unit over the TV. Eventually, it did the job, but it took a bit of time. Not good because I'd flown in during the day, arrived on a rainy evening, and really just needed to eat and lay down. The bathroom counter also didn't have a lot of space. It really is more fashion over functionality.
The evening food service set up is weird. Food service ends at 10pm. You send a text to the bar with your room info and what you want, and then you'll get a response. I didn't get a response, and it was just past 9:30pm. I wasn't risking there being some sort of error and then having to figure out which local restaurants were still open and order delivery on a rainy night. I went downstairs and decided to just confirm if they got my order and wait.
Sure enough, there was something up with the system, and my order hadn't popped up. The bartender took care of it, and I got my food, but still...if you're going to put a system like that in place: make sure it works. My food was okay. I had the pork belly fried rice and their roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon. I think the rice was supposed to be a nod to kimchi fried rice, which I know well because I lived in South Korea for almost a decade. It was good, but it wasn't on par with other fried rice dishes I'd had. The Brussels sprouts were good.
My experience with breakfast was much better. I did read that there was a buffet of some sort. I saw no trace of that, but maybe I came down a bit too late as it was after 9am. I just ordered off of the menu. Breakfast service was good for where I was. I've had much better in other hotels. I wasn't starving, so mission accomplished.
I needed some things printed, and they were able to take care of that with no problem. My check-in and check-out experience went well. For me, the experience was just okay. The staff was great. I just think in an area where you're serving a lot of people who are coming in for business, make it easy for us to get in, get fed, stay warm, and be ready for the next day.
I love this place. Not only are the rooms dark and comfy, the staff is fabulous and friendly.
You must visit the bar! They have the best pizza maybe in the world! The Lebanese bartender that served us was off the hook amazing.
I love the lemon water in the lobby too!
I traveled to Dallas for a trade show and stayed at the NYLO in Plano, TX for three nights. Great decision to stay outside Dallas. The hotel is really worth the drive back and forth. Just about 20 minutes with regular traffic outside Dallas. Right on the interstate. Great distance to the airport. Uber was at the hotel within 2 minutes. Uber Eats serves several restaurants. Uber drivers told me that they find the hotel very convenient and your chances of picking up a fast Uber ride are super high. Paid $39 plus tip one way.
The hotel room was really comfortable, quiet, very good concept, offering really good functionality. Very clean and wifi is high speed and works without any interruptions.
The front desk stuff is super friendly and providing great assistance. I saw that a company was using the conference facility and overheard them speaking about their great experience there.
Plenty of restaurants around, Starbucks walking distance, plenty of free parking, lots of great books in their library.
We visited the bar/restaurant and ordered a cheese dip which was very good. Speedy service and friendly staff. Solid selection of beverages and good prices.
Definitely a great choice to stay there!
First and foremost I just would like to thank all the staff members at the NYLO, they’re such a friendly and polite group of individuals who attend to your hotel stay needs. The suite was one of my favorite parts of staying at the hotel. My suite was on the 5th floor with a balcony view with two sided part of the suite. I was truly impressed on how easily accessible the room was due to my disability. The styling of the hotel is truly one of my favorites, a homie feeling with a contemporary twist. I would highly recommend a stay here not only for the room but for the staff members and location of this beautiful hotel. Thank you to NYLO and Prims for such a great stay.
The staff is great so I feel bad for them. This place is like staying in a cement prison with fancy furnishing. It’s damp, cold, and during our stay the roof leaked. The food is overpriced and service super slow.
Don’t stay here.
