How to Get There
We loved the unique style of the hotel. Its all concrete and brick, so if you are looking for something posh, this may not be it.
We got a very good rate and our only issue was a bedside lamp wasn't working correctly. We mentioned it at the front desk and it was taken care of before we got back from a Starbucks run.
Look forward to staying here again next time we visit the area.
This was a great stay at a cool industrial loft hotel in a central north Dallas location. My only complaint was the overpriced inadequate breakfast bar and horribly rude hostess. It was so aggravating that I reported it to the front desk and they graciously removed the breakfast charge from my bill. Otherwise the room was great - beautiful beds and linen and very quiet.
This was my first stay at a NYLO and it won't be my last. The ultra Chic style was refreshing to me. The room was a suite for which I was upgraded as a Diamond Member. The room was pretty awesome for a concrete floor style! Lots of drapery and room, room, room.
The bath was small considering how huge the room was. With the urban feel, you see more exposure to some chipped paint off the ceiling but for me the views was just awesome and my suite was complete with a rooftop balcony which would have been shared with the guest in the adjoining suite had the room been occupied.
The rate was exceptional for a Sunday night check in.
Hotel was about 25 minutes from DFW and easy to get to.
Across the street from multiple fast food (5 guys, Asian, Texmex, etc)
The outdoor pool looked very inviting, however, it was cold and raining, so I didn't venture into it.
The bar and bar food were not as appealing to me. I saw other statements about it and thought I'd have to agree that I would have thought it would have offered much more stylish presentations. It had more of a local dive bar. However, what a great variety of seating options if you were traveling with friends or co-workers and wanted to sit back in a little more private seating area which was certainly afforded in the space.
I thought breakfast was awesome. The presentation had a Tex-Southern feel to it with jams and jellies served in mason jars and a good variety of hearty breakfast foods. Coffee and juice was plentiful and the morning service was friendly and attentive.
I would definitely stay again. I would have loved that room for a multi-night stay.
Comfortable, unique style and ease of parking are the positives for sure!
The hotel looks pretty fabulous from outside, once you make your way in ( that's if you can find the secret unmarked door !!) things are less fabulous. Rooms are trying so hard to be amazing but just don't quite do it, bathroom was tiny with stains all over the worktop, sofa really uncomfortable concrete everywhere that made me go out and buy a pair of slippers for my 6 night stay as the floors were freezing !. The bed however was a dream ,but with no bedside light on the pretend nightstand table between beds was annoying, I had to get out of bed to switch of the light, not what you want when you're dropping off to sleep.
Breakfast was ok, toaster doesn't work and one toaster for that many guests was painfully slow to receive my untoasted bagel. Saving grace was the amazing sausages from the local farm, they were delish. Staff at breakfast were very friendly as were front desk staff.
I wouldn't choose to stay here again to many quirks that annoyed me, like receiving an email thanking me for my stay that read -
Dear ....insert guest name, thank you for staying at ....insert hotel name - really you send a thank you email to a guest and cant even insert their name or the location of where they stayed. I sent the email to their corporate customer service 10 days ago and they haven't even .....insert expletive ....bothered to reply. Not the best impressed on your first and more than likely last visit.
I like the hotel. great bed. air conditioning works great. breakfast was limited but very good. friendly front desk. complimentary parking. wifi works well. low weekend rates. I would stay here again.
