How to Get There
We enjoyed our room and the breakfast buffet was awesome. We felt the hotel main desk staff needed some coaching on how to greet guests and to provide help when needed. This hotel is definitely family friendly!
Located nearby Texas Speedway. The hotel offers all the amenities including golf, concierge club. The only downside pertained to the air condition or lack of in the hallways. Overall, good hotel and friendly staff.
My family stayed here for a wedding this past weekend and in total we had about ten rooms for multiple nights. The hotel itself is good. They had great outdoor areas, with large floor to ceiling windows. When we arrived the doorman helped us get luggage out of our car and walked us to the front desk. The lobby was bright and clean with numerous indoor and outdoor seating areas. The front desk staff was very friendly and was accommodating to our numerous requests. The rooms itself are very large with an oversize tub/shower combo which is nice considering how small the showers are in most hotels.
The reason I rated this property a three was the numerous maintenance issues our family encountered during our stay. We had rooms on the eighth floors and three of them were very warm and A/C wasn't working properly on a 100+ degree days. Obviously warm air rises and the big windows in the room doesn't help with the cooling but the A/C should still be able to keep up. Two of them asked for new rooms and the staff was accommodating and moved them rooms after the first night. Someone else in our family had no water pressure to flush the toilet which required a room change. Lastly, and probably the most serious issue was when we got back from the wedding at 11:30pm exhausted and was locked out of one room. The front desk remade the keys and sent us back upstairs. Still no luck. Finally they sent maintenance up and it took maintenance almost a half an hour to fish a wire under the door and open it from the inside. They informed us the something in the lock system wasn't working and that if we leave the room we should probably prop the door open so we wouldn't get locked out again. During all of these issues no compensation of any sort was offered even after the lengthy door lock issues at midnight. One or two issues with ten rooms, fine things happen, I get it. But out of the ten rooms my family had there, five of them had maintenance related issues, 50% of them. This was the closest hotel to the wedding venue but wish we would've drove out a few minutes further to another hotel.
We really did like this place, the location, the staff, the decor, the outdoor areas, but this many maintenance issues in a Marriott property in this price range is not acceptable. I would look into booking a different property in the area before returning to this one.
We flew out of Live Field and picked this hotel to be close. We were a bit afraid being so close to the DFW airport, but it was actually not loud and we got a good night’s sleep. The rooms are updated and clean, the beds firm and very comfortable. Would recommend.
This Marriott hotel sits on a beautiful golf course with well manicured grounds. The hotel has excellent meeting rooms and provided a fine evening dinner in the Grand Ball Room for the Lone Star Corvette Club Classic awards dinner and events. The staff is first class with onsite dining, bar and huge parking areas. A great experience. The only point less than a full five is that the rooms are showing a little wear but still very nice and extremely clean. A comfortable weekend across from the Texas Motor Speedway.
