How to Get There
This hotel is on fire! From the hottest “LRB” living room bar (open to the public) to the guest rooms. They’re service overall is Fantastic and the food is amazing! Hopson Travel Agency recommend W Dallas Hotel!
Despite being platinum ambassador status I got put in a crappy room on a low floor with music from the bar downstairs and noise from the street coming up. No upgrade even though better rooms were available. Broken air conditioning, no running hot water in the morning before I was due to speak at a conference on the premises so skipped a shower.
Front desk staff member couldn’t care less I’d been assigned a rubbish room when I asked to change to a higher floor with less noise but she still did it at least.
Charged a parking fee even though I don’t drive nor own a car.
Final night and loyalty points did not post to my account.
Meeting room and facilities for the conference were good.
Great service at the restaurant at both breakfast and later in the day.
Spa was great. I enjoyed using the steam shower.
I wouldn’t stay here again. The Meridien by the Galleria was loads cheaper and had zero issues there. If you have status with Marriott the staff don’t care.
This property falls on the lower end of the W spectrum. I’m guessing it’s older and due for a makeover and if not, should be. First the good. You get to experience the W bed which is a major attraction due to his deep comfort level. The ceilings are high and the rooms were quieter on the higher floors although I’m guessing I just lucked out with my neighbors as this party destination is designed for and simply invites high volume throughout the hallways. The staff seem motivated to provide you with a great hotel experience and do seem welcoming from the moment you hit the front desk. If you need nightlife, it’s right in the same location with ample choices on various floors.
The not so goods include...very few outlets (ie just one very loose outlet on either side of the bed...just one.) they provide you just 1-2 more hidden along a VERY dark side of a wall against the desk. It’s 2018 and we each have multiple devices that require charging so I’m lost on what could justify this one. The shower and sink are right in the room and exposed to the bedroom area so it’s basically a studio w no separation other than a curtain. This is often found in W but really felt cramped here. The closet is a cabinet they placed against the wall. The room is SUPER dark - even with all the lights on. The lifts couldn’t have operated any slower. Took forever and the property is underserved that way. For a luxury property classification it’s a bit shocking as you can’t even get a Q tip as part of the bathroom. There are soooo many heavy partiers that hit this location, it becomes a bit challenging to traverse the entrance around those vomiting or are about to. Welcome to the W.
From start to finish, the W provided exceptional service. Doormen greeted me outside the hotel, the receptionist upgraded my colleagues to corner suites, and the bartender attentively accommodated specific food and drink orders. Situated across the street from American Airlines Arena, the hotel bar draws an eclectic crowd on game nights.
I stayed here recently for my birthday and the staff was exceptional. One of the staff members in particular, Patrick, was very accomodating during my stay. He was attentive to my needs and very nice while explaining the amenities of the hotel.
My room was clean and tidy with a great view. Overall i really enjoyed my stay for the weekend.
