How to Get There
The entire staff was extremely helpful during our stay; making us feel most welcome; from checkin, directions and sevice. The room was very comfortable and inviting. The accommodations in dining and meeting rooms were also excellent.
I stayed overnight at Westin Austin at Domain for a corporate event. It was a nice hotel with all the amenities, nice rooms and friendly staff. Even the use of business center and printer was free. There isn’t any shortage of places to eat and hang out right by the hotel since it’s in the middle of an outside mall, although I was not able to enjoy it as I didn’t have time. I would gladly stay here again and looking forward to doing so soon...
I travel to Austin several times per month and have been staying at the Domain property for the last 6+ years. I've been noticing for the last couple of years that the physical aspects of the property have been deteriorating. Upon my arrival late Tuesday evening I was booked in room 807. My floor was occupied with 11 air blowers drying out the floor right outside my room. I was told the floor flooded. Obviously the maintenance team reacted properly but my first thought was "I'm not surprised as this property has been degrading for years". My sleep was drastically affected for two straight nights as the sound from the air blowers was considerable from my room. My next stay in Austin is February 24th, with week long stays every other week for the remainder of the year. I spend long hours in the office when I'm in Austin so tranquility and service at my hotel is of the utmost importance to me. Considering I foresee more facility problems at the Westin in the future I am changing my future reservations to the Archer hotel in the Domain. The service at the Westin continues to be stellar.
Four night business trip. Had specifically reserved and paid for a Westin Workout room (with a treadmill) and upon arriving was told they were out of those, so they gave me a different room type. No apologies offered. I called and spoke with the manager (Derick) and he also offered no apology, he just told me that those rooms were "very popular" and they had one of them out of service due to a "maintenance issue which I can't get into the details of"... I told him I simply wanted to know why they didn't call ahead or notify me, since the maintenance issue was discovered the day before I arrived, and he got frustrated and told me they call people if they have time, but obviously this time they didn't do that. Not once did he apologize. The general manager's name is David - I might have had better luck if I had called during business hours and spoken to him. Manager Derick didn't really seem to care. Usually Westin hotels are solid and consistent when I with at them for work travel, but this hotel seems to have a number of problems with its service and management. I noticed several empty beer bottles on tables in the hallways when I went to my meetings in the morning. My colleague was also staying at this Westin and she was told her room was not available until the next day (!) when she tried to check in. She was eventually given a bunch of SPG points after finally getting ahold of the manager, however again this service does not seem to represent the typical Westin quality I and most others are accustomed to.
I stay here frequently, during business travel. This hotel is centrally located within the “Domain” area which provides walking proximity to a number of great restaurants and shops. It’s clean, has Starbucks coffee in the morning (latte’s and so forth in the lobby), overall great service. I highly recommend it.
