Love in the JW

i always love the high quality of service. The rooms are so clean. Banquets team are outstanding.
The bar at JW is magnificent, and the ceiling of the lobby is like the geography of Austin. The Corner was great for hamburgers and drinks over Congress view.

The hotel was very nice and in a great location. The bar and lobby were fantastic for our event as there was plenty of room to host everyone and the bartenders did a good job of keeping up. The staff was also very friendly. The food was excellent as well. The late night room service menu needed a few more simple options like Quesadilla's or Grilled Cheese, chicken fingers etc but that is a personal preference. The only objection was the spa. The express spa services are a waste of time and money. You are not provided a robe or use of the locker room yet for a back, neck and shoulder massage you are asked to remove your shirt and sit there in your bra
upright and balance on the edge of the table sideways for a very awkward 15 minute uncomfortable massage instead of the 25 minute massage you paid for. This was embarrassing, pointless and expensive and the forced added gratuity was not at all warranted for this type of service.

My Room

Unfortunately, the roof above my shower (room 2514) had a leak. we reported this leak, but no one attended to it. The noise from the leak was one thing, but I would have thought Marriott would want this eye-sore fixed as well. Not the level of quality I expect from Marriott

Friendliest Staff!

Marriott should be extra proud of this property. Not only is it a beautiful facility but the staff was wonderful. From the bellman to the front desk to the meeting concierges to the banquet staff to maintenance....EVERYONE I encountered was so friendly and ready to help. Kudos to JW Austin. I hope to be back someday!

Austin Marriott

I generally like to stick with staying at the Marriott hotels on my business and personal trips. Either Courtyards, Residence Inns or when lucky - the Full JW Marriott Brand Hotels. This time we thought we were going to have the JW experience but were slightly disappointed with this Austin Marriott location. The rooms and facility were constantly cold, and the amenities were so-so, with emphasis on the spa area which we found to be not up to the Marriott Standards we are accustomed to seeing. Spa Services were very bad (booking availability and overall amenities). I thought we would have had a full service spa considering this is a top JW Marriott location. Instead we were very less than pleased with the SPA.
