How to Get There
We are Hilton Honors member & needed hotel near Cowboys Stadium to attend game (entertaining clients) so we reserved & paid up front for 2 rooms at Hilton in Arlington Texas several months in advance. Arrived @ 3:30pm & told our room was not ready. We asked if there was a courtesy room or somewhere to change so we could go to dinner & to Cowboys game & were told no, so we went in lobby restrooms with our luggage to change. We were told by front desk that our rooms would be ready when we returned from the game. We arrived back at hotel late that night after the football game tired & ready to go to sleep only to be told sorry, we overbooked our hotel & there are no rooms for us. They told us we could go to the Hawthorne hotel nearby & they will have 2 rooms for us. We asked if they could at least shuttle us there & they said no so we lugged all our stuff to Hawthorne hotel. Hilton has offered to refund the price of the original rooms we reserved but that's a small consolation. We had already reserved & paid well in advance so getting our money back absolutely does not make up for the incredibly poor experience - especially since this was a business trip & we had clients with us. How embarrassing and disappointing. I'm rethinking our loyalty to Hilton if this is how they treat their customers.
Our suite was too small to be marketed as a suite, furnishings were aging and worn and the chambermaid was a no-show. On the bright side, the restaurant staff was friendly and attentive and the breakfast offerings were good.
If you are here on business and just need a cozy bed and a good breakfast, this place will suit the need.
I have been a Hilton Honors Diamond member for over ten years. Hilton has always treated me right except for this last stay. They checked me into a handicap accessible room. After I entered the room, I noticed the shower head was broken. I called the front desk to ask for another regular room and they said they only had another handicap room. I told them to send maintenance to see if they could fix the shower, they couldn’t. They put me in another handicap room. Ok fine, I moved all my stuff. No apology, no sorry for the inconvenience and no offer to help me move all my stuff. I get into the new room and the shower head was pointing straight down. The screw that hold it up was loose. Instead in calling them again I just used a quarter to tighten it enough so I could shower. Unpacked and tried to log into the WiFi to do some work. The WiFi was not working. I called the front desk and they said they were “upgrading” it and that it would be down for an undetermined amount of time. 2 days later, still no WiFi, no apologies, nothing. Hotel itself is dated and after the way I was treated, I will not be back! Disappointed in Hilton.
