The St. Regis offers a more residential alternative to the city’s Financial District competitors. With live music on Friday and Saturday nights, the Remington Bar is considered a Houston hot spot, but the rest of the hotel — from a pleasant mezzanine-level pool and a luxe and eclectic spa, to the spacious, finely appointed rooms and suites — relies on first-class service and stately surroundings to keep its guests happy. The chain’s signature butlers go above and beyond to unpack, press garments and more.
In the Area
Seamlessly blending in with the wealthy River Oaks residential area on one side and the Galleria Houston retail palace on the other, the hotel has built a reputation on elegance in a refined location nine miles from downtown. Memorial Park running trails can be picked up easily, as can a few rounds of golf at nearby Memorial and Wildcat courses, as well as the Woodlands Tournament Players Course. For business purposes, the many corporate offices in the energy capital are accessible from the hotel via free shuttle.
How to Get There
My daughter and I had afternoon tea at the St. Regis. It was great. We love tea and it was amazing. They also included small sandwiches, scones and a dessert tray. In the background a a harp was being played beautifully. It was expensive but definitely a very fun experience for a special occasion.
I spent a 4-day weekend here. It was fantastic!!! Check in was a pleasure. Room, and bathroom, were top notch. Bar = good. Restaurant = good. Fitness Ctr/Spa = just average. Friendliness of the staff = excellent. Hotel driver, Paul = a great asset to the brand. Promote him!!! I would definitely recommend this place, and return, anytime.
Had a very good visit at the St. Regis last week. Was upgraded to a suite which is a very special experience. Because this is an older property, the rooms for suites etc. are gigantic. The "living room" of my suite rivaled my own home in size. The desk was the most comfortable working desk at a hotel ever -- the desk was better than mine back home.
Quiet room, great bed, spacious bathroom, great amenities. Enjoyed breakfast downstairs. River Oaks location is great -- a quiet way to be near the Galleria and Greenway Plaza.
Old world charm. Seems like a 1970s property that has everything you need and lots more.
