How to Get There
My granddaughter and I stayed at the Houstonian for 3 nights for my cousin's amazing 3 day wedding reception. On Thursday my cousin hosted dinner under the tree in the Meadow. The food was amazing. Cous cous, Gnochi, Succotash, Salad, Crab Cakes and Prime Rib was so tasty. Probably some of the best food I have had. Definitely not "hotel food". Then we had an incredible second line band that marched us around the grounds and hotel with the Bride and Groom leading the way. The staff was so attentive and were right on point when something was needed. So very gracious! Every night we had a drink at the Tribute bar. Thank you Cime!!! Somehow in that packed bar you made sure we had drinks and drink suggestions whenever we needed them. You are a force of nature! We had breakfast and lunch at the Tribute Grill. Breakfast was a jalapeno biscuit, with eggs, sausage and a black pepper gravy. This dish was amazing! Great start to my day. I had a cajun dish for lunch Scallops and Crab etouffe with popcorn rice and pickled okra. They hit it out of the ballpark with this dish. Special thanks to Roberto for taking such special care of us at the restaurant! First class all the way! I highly recommend the Houstonian for staycation, vacation, meetings, weddings, receptions or just because. When you get there you will see what being a member of the Houstonian family is all about!!! Enjoy!
This place is beautiful and elegant. Honey took me here for a Valentine’s Day staycation. It was very clean with vintage decor. The judge outside is cute. The most helpful valet and service staff in Houston.
This is without a doubt the place to stay in Houston. Every single member of the staff is highly professional and warm and anticipates your every need. The Houstonian is both a hotel and a private club, and it reflects the professionalism and warmth of a private club. Whether this is your first visit or you are a full time member, you are treated like an appreciated guest. The mood is instantly set when you turn into the Houstonian - it is nestled among enormous live oak trees and a pathway winds around the hotel and through gardens and green spaces. The door men, the front desk, the housekeeping, the wait staff - all are superb. Housekeeping is especially thoughtful, lining up your shoes, taking time to implement the special touches. The restaurant and bar are newly renovated and very stylish. There too, the staff will do whatever is needed to be sure your experience is excellent. Included with your room is access to the beautiful Houstonian health club with a lap pool, regular pool, fitness classes and beautiful locker rooms and showers. Here too the facility is perpetually clean and the staff is professional and attentive. I looked at the St. Regis and several other top tier hotels in Houston, and there is no doubt that the Houstonian tops them all. The warmth of the professional staff combined with the beautiful facility and setting and access to the club make it the definite choice when in Houston.
We were in Houston to visit our daughter and spent three nights at The Houstonian. This was our fourth stay here. We have tried several other hotels in the area, but they were disappointing in comparison so have decided this is the only hotel we will stay at in Houston. From the moment you arrive, you feel as if you are at a resort even though it is conveniently located to the Galleria, the arts district, Memorial Park, etc. The surrounding gardens and grounds are beautiful. Hotel guests have access to an amazing sports club and spa. There are several restaurants/bars, all of which have very good food. A highlight was having a drink at the pool bar and grill. The rooms are large and very quiet. The staff really makes it a wonderful experience, though - they are professional, attentive, but not intrusive. I can’t say enough about this hotel, you just need to stay there and experience it for yourself!
My wife, son & I had a brief stay at The Houstonian over the first weekend in February.
The hotel was very nice & the staff was even better!
Their restaurant is quite nice too!
I would highly recommend whether for business or pleasure!
