Decent Stay
Reviewed 1 day ago

I stayed at the Omni when visiting Houston for a work trip. I didn’t use the pool but it looked ok. Gym was small but did the job. Restaurant food was excellent and exactly what you would want and expect at a good business hotel. My only issue which I raised with the staff was my room sat above the kitchen/diner area and I could smell the breakfast in my room when I woke up. It was for me a minor inconvenience.

I only stayed one night, so I don’t have an in depth view, but my overall feeling is that this was not what I expected for an Omni.

It was ok, but not great. I didn’t experience any problems and slept well, so it went bad at all.

First..the lobby is being remodeled, a lot has been done, but there is more, they do notify you on their website. The remodel didn’t give me any problems.

Check in wasn’t perfect...one employee was at the desk and was on the phone, apparently on hold. After I waited for a couple minutes, she finally just hung up and assisted me.

The greeting wasn’t great, but she did her job.

The elevators are nice, but dated.

The room was clean, but the age is showing. I predict the rooms will be updated after the lobby area is completed.

The bed was comfortable and I had a solid night of sleep.

The bathroom was small and the pink/peach tile was just dreary.

I used the gym...the gym was great. Good size, clean, equipment was in great shape. Towels and water was provided.

I checked out the pool, but didn’t get in. It’s good size and clean.

I had a couple drinks at the Black Gold Bar...staff was great, drinks were great, and I liked the bar. It was definitely the shining point.

Overall, I’d probably select a different hotel for my next stay.

Hot Room and Dirty Pool

Been a Omni fan since staying at Dallas location. Very disappointed in this Houston location. It was apparent after seeing dirty AC filter and pool that this place does not focus on mainteance and cleaning aspects of the business.

Needs some updating
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Stayed here for a week on business. The lobby is being updated but the rooms need it as well. Ask to stay on the top floor, the lower floors have a lot of noise. The location is good if you have a car. You can not walk to any restaurants or shopping.
