Very nice.

Mostly this hotel is very nice. I've only a few issues. The staff is very helpful and eager to serve. Valet, bell service, front desk, room service & housekeeping all are outstanding. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean.

Now maybe I'm naive about this class of hotel, but my room was tiny. I've paid less money for a larger, nicer room with many more amenities. I was also a bit surprised at the price of valet parking. The front of this place has limited access so just to check in, you have to pull into the valet area. I'm not even sure if you can self park here.

Overall, we had a nice stay, but I will probably find another hotel next time. A little too pricey for what you get.

JW Service Hard to Beat

I stay here occasionally for work. The Galleria location is great, service is what I've come to expect from JW hotels, which says a lot of good things about this JW. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are easy to work in. The valet parking prices seem a bit steep, even for the Galleria area. There's good selection on the room service menu, and service is prompt and professional. There are many amenities at this hotel that make for a very catered stay.

Nice hotel, great location to the mall, if you want to do some shopping while traveling. I think the hotel needs to be upgraded. Its dated. Rooms were nice, but needs some TLC. All staff members that i meet were good and gave good local advise.

Fantastic Stay All Around

We spent one night at the JW Marriott following a cruise out of Galveston. From the first moment we set foot on the property, we were treated very well. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and efficient in getting us checked in early. Our room on the 17th floor was very nice - modern decor, comfy bed, spacious bathroom, large television, and plenty of storage space for our personal belongings.

We were provided access to the executive/concierge lounge, which I found to be a really nice perk. The evening of our stay there were hors d'oeuvres and dessert, and the next morning breakfast was provided. Unlike many hotel lounges in the US, this one was well-stocked. A good variety of food and drink - there was plenty of food for us to choose from. The woman overseeing the lounge was great - always smiling and offering to assist in any way. The lounge was kept clean and stocked throughout "food" hours. Even in "off" hours, the lounge is a great place for quiet and to get some work done. It's very comfortable with ample seating, lots of natural light (and nice views), and plenty of places to charge your devices.

The rooftop pool is nice as well. While not super large, it was big enough even when there were a dozen people there. There's a lot of seating with cushions to make it comfortable - some are under shade but most are under the sun. A small portion of the pool is indoor, sharing the space with the workout facility. The gym actually consists of 3 different areas/rooms - one for stretching/yoga, one with cardio equipment, and one with weights. We only passed through the gym on our way to/from the pool, but it looked sufficient.

The location of the hotel is great. Directly across the street from the Galleria Mall, there are plenty of restaurant options within a short walk.

We had a nice, relaxing stay, and I look forward to having the opportunity to stay here again on our next visit to Houston.
