How to Get There
The staff , from the front desk, bar, restaurant , valet and to housekeeping, are like old family friends. We always feel extra special when greeted and when we say bye. There is always a “see you next time”!
I am appalled that this is a Marriott hotel and that too an Autograph collection!
- terrible customer service especially cleaning staff; restroom stinking with whatever cleaning stuff they used. Added to it the cleaning wasn’t completed even by 5 pm.
- waited patiently for over an hour to get a towel and laundry bag; made 3 calls during the hour and the lady still didn’t show up!
- mosquitoes in the elevator n lobby area
- breakfast is useless; better to walk across the street to Boomtown cafe
- valet parking is a whopping $36
- rooms don’t smell good
Hotel manager- please note that all the above issues are pretty much the same that you have received from all who have given you terrible reviews here on TA. Am not sure what was done after receiving feedback on your number 713-598—-
Please fix basic issues around cleanliness, room cleaning, customer service.
When am paying $300 this is not what I expected; these are basic expectations which even a motel takes care of.
The hotel is very interesting and such a treat to stay in when you travel quite a bit. The rooms were interesting and different then chain hotels. Matt the manager and Gabriel of housekeeping are the best! I left something at the hotel and spoke with Gabriel- he was so helpful and kind and found my item and is sending it to me! they went above and beyond!
ICON was what we look for in a relaxing weekend, even when we still had an agenda. Any issue that arose was promptly handled within minutes and they would go above and beyond to do so. The rooms were the perfect temperature upon arrival, and the water didn’t take long to heat up. The robes were some of the best we’ve had at a stay. The bed was comfortable, and pillows had options for firm or soft. The blackout curtains did wonders for the day we wanted to sleep in (after arriving around 2am). Also, the view was lovely from the 10th floor. The location is unbeatable, as everything was walkable in terms of restaurants and bars. Plus the light rail stopped right in front of the hotel. I would recommend, if you’re just looking for a weekend getaway and don’t intend to travel much outside of downtown, just take a shuttle or Uber from the airport as parking was a little pricing and we didn’t end up driving as much as we thought. Uber was relatively cheap (about $1 per minute of driving), so we wish we just did that. Great experience and we WILL be back. It’s already favorited in my Marriott app. We don’t like to go to the same hotel more than twice, so we can maximize exploration and experiences, but we plan to make an exception for ICON
I really don’t have anything negative to say about the hotel. It was clean and the staff was friendly. I will stay again next time I’m in the area. I guess the only complaint I have is the breakfast buffet was $20.00
