Family-friendly lodge between Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks with a three-story spa
A tall wooden structure with a Grand Teton backdrop, the lodge’s overall vibe is stylish but casual — there’s no pretense, but no outlandish luxury either. This is a four-diamond mountain retreat with plenty of memorable touches. With massive stone fireplaces in the lobby and the requisite reclaimed-timber logs, the lodge is an ideal place for families to kick up their cowboy, ski or hiking boots year-round.
Bed & Bath
The resort’s spacious rooms are ideal for families, particularly the suites, which can sleep up to four. They all have fireplaces, dining areas, huge flat screens with in-room movies and lived-in décor with weathered leather club chairs, soft plaid blankets and rustic wood furniture. We love the state-of-the-art kitchens, ideal for quick pre-ski or –hike breakfasts. Marble-clad bathrooms have indulgent dual-head showers.
Refuel after your outdoor pursuits in the lodge’s romantic firelit Spur Restaurant and Bar, which serves up hearty, locally and sustainably sourced ingredients. Three-story Solitude spa features Roman-inspired waterfall body and bath rituals and readings by resident clairvoyant Carol Mann. And the finale to the perfect day at Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, A Noble House Resort? A soak in the lodge’s rooftop hot tub as a fiery glow washes over the Grand Tetons.
In the Area
Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa is at the foot of Jackson Mountain Resort (killer hiking and biking), in the heart of Teton Mountain Village (high-end gear and dining), one mile from Teton National Park (where elk roam through blankets of wildflowers) and only one hour from Yellowstone (a bucket-list must with geyser peeping, dog sledding and wolf trekking). Jackson Hole may be known as a winter hot spot, but summer — when the landscape is overrun by alpine wildflowers and crowds are scarcer — is equally magical. Head out to the 25,000-acre National Elk Refuge to see the majestic animals and check out the National Museum of Wildlife Art across the street. End the day by sidling up to the bar “stools” made from saddles at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar 20 minutes from Teton Village in Jackson.
