Budget-friendly digs with a retro vibe, a block from Bograshov Beach
A short stroll from Bograshov Beach and Tel Aviv's bustling Carmel Market, the Embassy Hotel is a boutique property with a retro vibe. The public spaces feature an eclectic mix of 1950s paraphernalia (old fashioned telephones, a vintage moped) alongside plush leather armchairs and a faux cobblestone floor. The 23 guestrooms are decked out with Midcentury furniture and beds dotted with brightly colored pillows and throws. Patterned carpets add even more color. Opt for a Suite and you'll get your own kitchenette, while some Superior Rooms offer partial views of the Mediterranean. Communal areas include the breakfast room, with its funky rainbow-colored chairs, and a guest lounge that serves free tea, coffee and snacks throughout the day.
In the Area
Lively Carmel Market is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Head there to pick up souvenirs or taste your way around the excellent street food stalls. Design fans should check out Bialik Street's Bauhaus buildings; the Beit Rubin Museum is a particular highlight. For a culture fix head to the cutting-edge Museum of Art; afterward try traditional Israeli cuisine in the informal Dining Hall restaurant. Closer to home, Bograshov Beach is practically opposite the hotel.
