Brand new boutique B&B with just eight guestrooms on a leafy, historic hacienda near Taos Plaza
This eight-room B&B set on a quiet block dates back to the turn of the 20th century and was an established inn for years before New Mexico–based Heritage Hotels and Resorts purchased it in 2013. For high country romance, the setting can’t be beat, with a series of adobe buildings ringing a shaded courtyard with a gurgling blue tile fountain and wildflower garden. The new ownership completed a renovation in spring 2014, sprucing up the grounds, refreshing the guestrooms and infusing the entire estate with works by New Mexico’s finest female artists.
Bed and Bath
Each guestroom has a private entrance, giving it an at-home-in-Taos vibe. Other perks include gas kiva fireplaces, heated tile floors and spacious Italian marble bathrooms. Each room’s design is inspired by a famous female artist and Taos resident, including Georgia O’Keeffe and Dorothy Brett, and each has unique charms. The Icon Room looks out over the garden, while the Romantic room is set back and filled with sunlight through large skylights. The Modernist makes good on its name in stark, mod furnishings and is shaded by a century-old cottonwood tree. Common design threads across the property include viga roofs, ivory-colored adobe walls, brushed nickel furniture and leather sofas and chairs.
The made-to-order breakfast delivered to your door is the ultimate start to a day spent exploring Taos Pueblo, gallery-hopping in the plaza, or carving the nearby ski mountain. Specialties include a rich frittata and tasty turkey green chili sausage. The new owners have added a team of therapists available to deliver in-room treatments, and the manager is also your concierge, guiding you to the best of Taos.
