This five-star high-rise offers an urban sanctuary in Coimbatore’s bustling center. The striking lobby features onyx walls, funky water sculptures and a shimmering chandelier. Take a dip in the palm-fringed outdoor lap pool or relax with a glass of bubbly at Tease, a swank cocktail bar with Italian marble floors and upholstered leather walls. The guestrooms and suites are done in soft gold and olive tones, with polished wood floors, midcentury-style furniture and slick recessed lighting. The spacious marble bathrooms come with walk-in rain showers and Forest Essentials toiletries. Hit the treadmill at the state-of-the-art gym, or ease aching muscles with an Indian aromatherapy massage at the spa. The dining options are varied: You can sample upscale Southern Indian cuisine (and enjoy the floor-to-ceiling city views) at Latitude, contemporary Chinese fare at the intimate Red Pearl, or cocktails, tapas and round-the-clock DJs at Tease. Premium Indulgence and Deluxe Allure guests enjoy the comfy confines of Rhythm–the Lounge; don’t miss the daily free cocktail hour.
In the Area
Start your adventure with a trip to the Marudhamalai Temple, just nine miles out of town. This gigantic multicolor shrine — dedicated to the Hindu god Murugan — was built in the 8th century AD. Watch out for monkeys and peacocks cavorting in the surrounding hills. For a chance to see tigers and elephants in the wild, head for the Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary. And if you’re a fan of Indian cuisine, make a beeline for the nearby village of Palakkad, which is known for its unique style of Brahmin-influenced cooking. Your concierge will happily arrange a gourmet lunch at a private home, cooked with vegetables from the kitchen garden. The elaborate meal includes a kootan (vegetables in spicy lentil and coconut sauce), a rasam (a tangy soup) and a payasam (a coconut-based dessert).
How to Get There
Every time i visit I'm impressed even more. The absolutely friendly service of the bar staff n the accompaniments by Chef Natraj. Today I was floored by the tasty southernspice corn and cheese croquettes. I always insist on different bites n flavour when i visit and Chef Nataraj doesn't disappont me every time i come. Every dish is mouth watering delicious. Bar team of Praveen, Prabhakar, Vignesh n Sudhakar do a very good job of satisfying the very discerning guest. Keep up the good work.
I moved to this hotel having spent two very happy weeks in another Vivanta by Taj in Kerala, and I have to admit that I did not enjoy my stay here as much as I did at the other hotel. Immediately, I found this hotel to be much less friendly and rather impersonal. Indeed, it took a message sent from a contact at the other hotel before I can say that I started to feel welcome. I certainly did not feel as though my status as a TIC Gold Member was recognised. It was not as though there was anything wrong with the hotel's facilities and food, but rather the lack of warmth and friendliness that I have experienced in Vivanta Hotels elsewhere. A constant source of irritation and frustration was the intrusive level of aggressive music that filled the public spaces, and it was very difficult to find anywhere to relax quietly, short of remaining in my room or sitting by the pool, after a busy working day. Each of the areas had different music playing, which was utterly pointless and, on more than one occasion, the music from the bar overwhelmed that in the restaurant. I pointed this out to the lobby staff, but it seemed not to have been taken on board with any degree of sympathy. I have to say that I was glad my stay here was not longer than it was.
Rooms are nice and tidy. Overall good experience. The Food preparation was not consistent on order. Chicken was great for lunch on first day but was not good for dinner and lunch next day. The chicken curry was also not great.
Nice, But not what we have expected. The room size we have paid more . Swimming pool & the food was excellent. Overall nice experience. For the business trip this ok, But family We need to book it bigger room.
Being one of the best business class hotel in Coimbatore, Taj provides a worthy stay and an good atmosphere. People can hang out in race course for a walk and almost reach any place in an hour at max from the hotel
