Luxury all the way!!!
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed only for 1 night during business trip. However, what a truly luxurious experience it was. We were small group staying for 1 night and also did have business dinner booked at the hotel. I was in charge of organization and so was able to assess professionalism of hotel staff even before arrival. Constance (Conference manager) was always extremely responsive and professional. All arrangements were done in really quick and effective manner. So was very much looking for the stay. On arrival you are entering the world of classic charm, luxury, tranquility and top service. Check in was extra quick and efficient and I was informed that being Leaders club member is upgraded to Lake view room where I was quickly escorted by the reception person who was checking me in. Room was big and luxuriously appointed, 4-poster bed and fluffy carpets were adding to romantic atmosphere. And of course the view - it was uninterrupted view of Geneva lake with famous water fountain. Bathroom is generously sized with double wash-basins, bathtub and all amenities you would expect form 5 star hotel. Nice touch was that on arrival I was told that i can select welcome drink (it did include any! drink I wanted) - I ordered cocktail which was shortly brought to my room with some nuts - small but very pleasant touch. Dinner we did have was really superb with excellent wine pairing (Swiss wines suggested by the hotel). Breakfast was equally great. Both meals were served in the restaurant with wonderful Lake view. In the evening we did have cocktail in the Leopard bar - both cocktail and atmosphere with live music were gorgeous. WiFI is free and working very well. Hotel public areas are all classically appointed, immaculately clean and make you feel like you are back in time. Service worth separate mentioning - all staff members are naming guests by name - what a quality touch, yes hotel is not that big while it is still a challenge to do this and they cope with challenge. Guests at this hotel are really feel welcomed, pampered and important - one can feel really as valued guest rather than just another customer. I'm staying in Geneva frequently (15 times in the last 2 years) and this hotel was by far the best on all fronts from those were I was staying. Really well done d'Angletere! Highly recommended!!!

Anticipating expectations!

Staying at the Hotel D'angleterre you will get more than you expect! This is not just a boutique hotel, it is a place steeped in an atmosphere of comfort and hospitality. Luxury and attention to detail. The staff is very responsive, Your every wish will be taken into account and fulfilled. Here really love and pamper their guests, starting with champagne on arrival and for Breakfast, adding delicious sweet surprises in the rooms on the pillows before bedtime... I lived in a wonderful room with a view of the lake and the fountain. This is perhaps the best view imaginable in Geneva! And I had a great pleasure to celebrate my birthday in the hotel. There was so wonderful get congratulations from the hotel during the breakfast with delicious sweets and.. closing his eyes, among all this beauty, blow out the candle on the cake and make the greatest wish.. Be sure to try the afternoon tea at the Windows restaurant, it's an unforgettable experience for your visual and taste buds. Start your night at Leopard bar and make it special...

I end my review with endless gratitude to the hotel for this unique and unforgettable weekend! Above all praise!

Guest not a Customer

I am someone who stays in hotels for a living. For 25 years I have spent at least 30 nights a year in hotels and for me this was THE BEST experience of my life. This was my 5th night on the road moving from city to city and landing in Geneva for 2 nights. From the moment I walked in I felt more like an invited guest than a customer. Although I had never stayed there, they were expecting me, greeted by name, room exactly to my taste ready when I was arriving way before check in time and it just got better from there. The decor of the hotel is something to be savored. I was on the top floor over looking the lake and took the magnificent winding staircase to be sure and see all of the unique art in every knock and cranny. The staff are always there and yet almost invisible. Completely attentive without intruding. It was as if genuine kindness filled the air. I had room service and breakfast buffet, both were excellent. When speaking to another friendly guest at breakfast I learned I really missed something not going to the Leopard Bar. :Location is central to air, train and the UN where I was working. and beautiful walks on the lake. The only problem was the bed and bedding were so comfy I did not want to get up. I will definitely be back and if you travel to Geneva, this hotel is a must and worth every penny.

Old charm hotel with friendly service and great location by the lake...

We stayed at Geneva Hotel d'Angleterre for two nights during our wedding anniversary we celebrated in Switzerland. Friendliness and big smiles of the staff was the first thing we noticed and the hotel didn't disappoint either. It has a nice location by the waterfront looking across to the old Geneva and town centre and within easy walking distance crossing one of the bridges over the river. The decoration and atmosphere fo the hotel still carries its old charm from the heydays and the creaking floors give it a strangely cosy feel. Like most of the older hotel buildings, spaces are somewhat cramped, the lifts, corridors and room all included. It has a nice breakfast buffet and with the fresh roses they have on the tables every day, together with the bright Swiss sun and the lake views, the restaurant makes a pretty cosy and romantic place to enjoy your cup of tea with croissants. Although many hotels in the area seem to offer free parking for customers, Hotel d'Angleterre doesn't although they offer a chargeable parking service which it is somewhat of a downside. However, overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Ultimate elegance with professional service

I know I recommend highly most hotels we use, and that is because I do comprehensive research on Trip Advisor, before I finally make a selection. Hence it is unusual to find that we have reserved a hotel with issues. This hotel exceeds all standards for a 5 star hotel, with its gorgeous elegant rooms and public areas. The breakfast room overlooks the Lake and every table has a lovely display of fresh roses on each table. The continental breakfast is generous, with hot food also available if ordered. There is a superb restaurant adjacent to the breakfast room, also beautiful with generous displays of fresh flowers and fine china and silver service. Our room overlooked the lake, and was generous in size and like the rest of the hotel, very elegant with pure silk lining the walls which matched the quilt on the bed. The service was friendly, helpful, professional and made us feel right at home. This is a hotel that ticks all the boxes.
