Nice hotel if a little tired in places
Reviewed 1 week ago

Finding Frimley Hall is interesting as it’s tucked away in a housing estate. It is however a lovely old building with nice grounds. Inside it retains its old style even if that does leave some old building problems. I had two heaters in my room, the corridors were a little chilly to walk down and so on. Acing said that the staff were very helpful and I had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was good although the butter portions were very small.

Noisy environment, nice setting, attentive staff

Lovely period property in the public areas, staff were excellent, very attentive.
Our room was very clean & with good quality fittings.
The restaurant food was well presented & good value, the breakfast was excellent & had a very wide choice but ,oh the noise!
We couldn't talk properly during dinners it was so noisy, lake a busy cafeteria. Spoiled the evening. We managed to take breakfast in the morning room which was much quieter!
First time I have stayed at a Macdonald's & will definately stay with them again if they are all like this but will ask about the restaurant first!.

Can someone just pick up the phone?
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I received a call around 10:00am the day of our check in and was informed that our Spa treatments had to be cancelled as all the therapists had fallen ill; the spa manager said we could have treatments at their sister property (Ascot) arranged but I never heard back from the Frimley nor ascot property confirming an amended time. I tried calling the spa for a follow up (both properties), neither picked up the phone, it wasn’t until my partner and I arrived to the hotel at 15:30 that our treatments were arranged for the following day.

I booked a feature double room, the bed was tiny, there was meant to be a guarantee of a garden view but we looked onto the car park, there was also a guarantee of complimentary fruit in our room and there wasn’t any to be seen.

After advising reception that the bed was too small, we were moved to another room that did face the garden and where the bed was a little bit bigger. Once we started to settle in I came to discover cobwebs on the ceiling light and the curtains had an obvious white paint stain on it and also a coffee stain but not entirely sure.

I tried making a room service order on two different occasions and had to place the order with reception as room service wouldn’t pick up. It became apparent, no one wants to answer the phone in this hotel.

I appreciated the 13:00 comp late check out but that was only due to our spa treatments having to be changed to 11:00am which is their check out time.

Overall, I won’t be going to this hotel again.
