How to Get There
Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in March 2018. Whilst I have no issues with the hotel stay, the experience was marred by the lack of customer focus in service recovery for a mistake that was purely Radisson Blu Waterfront’s own making.
Upon check-out, the front desk charged me for a 6 nights stay even though it was clearly stated that the period of check-in to check-out was only for 4 nights. This was clearly a system error. I asked the front desk on this discrepancy and they promptly refunded the extra 2 nights charged on the spot. Note that such charging and refund via a foreign issued credit card means a loss in exchange rate for the cardholder even though the amount is deemed correct in local currency in Stockholm.
As I continued my travel to Germany, Radisson Blu, for no apparent reason, reinstated the extra 2 nights charged to my credit card without my consent.
I realised this upon receiving my credit card statement and contacted Radisson Blu. It took them more than 2 weeks before anyone bothered to acknowledge receipt of the numerous emails I sent to them (I copied the global office on the last one).
From there, it was another case of denial and lack of sincerity in resolving the extra 2 nights charge. After close to 2 months, Radisson Blu finally made the refund but totally ignored the fact that there was currency exchange loss that I had to incur due to their mistake. They even claimed that they could not refund me for the exchange loss as this was not reflected in their system. They offered me their reward points in return. I was disappointed ! I did not ask for the reward points, just the currency the change loss.
Why would I want the reward points or even stay in Radisson Blu hotel after this incident? The treatment that I received was unprofessional for a mistake that they made. I have to constantly sent them reminder emails. To-date, I have not gotten any resolution from Radisson Blu on this matter.
Lovely hotel in great position next to central station Stockholm. Although i was upgraded to a Business room, the room was very basic and not very big. The towels were tiny and paper thin, should have been thrown out months ago. The bed was comfortable and there was a nespresso machine in the room.
Breakfast was fantastic. I thought I received it because of my gold card status but later realised I had booked it with my room. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I was so sure that I had booked it at a much lower price in pounds sterling than I eventually paid in SEK but no way to confirm as the confirmation email I had received was in SEK too. I was shocked at the charge!!
This hotel was reasonably priced but surprised us with such amazing service, friendly and helpful throughout our stay and a wonderful, clean, comfortable hotel in such an excellent location - nothing here could be improved, it was so good. Deserves accolades, and we are quite hard to please with hotels and have high standards - well done to everyone here - it was just brilliant. Also, we arrived very late on the Friday but Carolina at the desk was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.
Room card does not work to access the elevator and the room. We had to exchange the cards every day. Air conditioning does not work in the business class room. (Onion smell every day).
It was not possibe to organize peppermint tea for breakfast.
Cleaning of the room was poor. After one week dust could be seen.
We are still waiting that our consumations are booked on the Radisson Reward program.
This is a hotel I highly recommend and has close access to the trains if you might find that important. (It's ok, you won't hear them). Its a large hotel but without getting boring and the risk of losing its atmosphere. Nice and modern rooms. Nice and friendly staff.
