See Sweden’s Stockholm from your base at this renovated 18th century building in the quiet Vasastan neighborhood. Hotel Hansson is lovingly managed by the Hansson family, who come from the pretty area of Grebbestad off the Swedish west coast. The rooms at this small hotel are newly designed, all with a view over the rooftops of the city. Start the day with a delicious breakfast buffet before heading out to explore.
Wooden or brick floors and traditional details like exposed rafters all add to the charm at Hansson’s. There’s something about a luxury en-suite bathroom contrasted with a romantic old building that makes for the perfect boutique hotel, wouldn’t you say?
How to Get There
I have had Hansson as my favourite for quiet some years now. You could immediately feel the hospital atmosphere when you enter the boutique hotel with the friendly staff.
The rooms are personal and very clean.
The location is in Vasastan, the northern part of the centre. There are lots of charmy and good international restaurants in the neighbourhood.
I would strongly recommend Hansson for anyone. It is price worthy.
Great staff really helpful, the breakfast is amazing had like so many varieties of foods and the room are very cozy. The location is really good, many restaurants nearby. Would really recommend this place.
BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL IN Sweden , Stockholm!!!!
I just want to share with you my horrible experience in this hotel! After 10 months of planning prior to our trip in London, Norway, Sweden, and Amsterdam together with my husband and friends went on to our travel plans; but after only 16 days of stay, the supposed to be happy and enjoyable vacation turned out to be horrifying and traumatising! On 26th April at around 8am, we all went to the breakfast area at the hotel lobby, at 8:10am, a guy , who dressed so professionally smart, went to approach our table and asked my friend if he was Mr. Takashi, the moment took my attention in a bit. As I turned back my head just a few moments after, I found out that my bag containing cash ,my 2 handphones (2 iphone 8plus), passport, and credit cards, portable wifi , sunglasses and 2 jewellery was already gone! The place is not that big as it has around 15 tables only yet, the people who took my bag were so pro that we didn’t notice them at all when we were destructed by the guy. It is a 4 star hotel yet they don’t have security assigned nor a cctv to at least secure the place from thefts such as what happened to me. After the incident, we complained to the Hotel manager and he said that’s nothing he can do but to call for the police. Then the police officer came in to ask a few questions then they left ,saying that they have other urgent things to attend to and tell us to go to police station by ourselves, so the hotel front desk call us a taxi and one of our close friend went to the the Malaysian Embassy with us. In there, I was once again told to fill up the form and write my statement. Nothing really happened after that and the police couldn’t do anything at all.
Because of the incident, our original plan of going to Amsterdam didn’t push through and we were stuck in Sweden since my passport was as well stolen. So, I needed to rebook my ticket from Sweden to KL and it added some cost to me and my ticket to Amsterdam is burned. It was really a frightening, upsetting, and disheartening experience. I am writing this to warn everyone to be extra carefull. This hotel is not safe at all and the thefts can really strike without you knowing it. They’re so brave to do it since they know that the hotel doesn’t have the necessary security guards and cctv.
Anyway, I would like to give a big thumbs up to the employees of the Malaysia Embassy. They were really so friendly and helpful. They were so quick and efficient enough to issue me a one-way passport for me to be able to fly back to Malaysia. To the officers and employees of the Malaysian Embassy, I would like to express my sincerest thanks and appreciation. And my long dream plan holiday was just in a dash... due to my belongings was gone in 2 minuets..... in this I and my husband have to end this Dream Trip by 5 days earlier .... 😔😔😔
For those who are intending to stay in this hotel, please reconsider your decision; otherwise, you should be vigilant and make sure to take really good care of your belongings and don’t feel so confident that you and your belongings are secured all the time...... 😔😔😔😔😔
On arriving we were warmly welcomed, even though the poor woman on reception was doing everything - making coffee, checking people in and out! However, I have to agree with previous reviewers...the room was pretty dire. I had taken reviewer advice and asked for a refurbished room, but perhaps these don't come under the basic room category because we weren't given one! Furnishings scuffed, all pictures/lamps/radiator covers crooked showing lack of care, old and marked shower with a shower head that just poured like a tap. One thing I can award the hotel with: The absolute worst towels I have ever seen in a hotel - grey and limp and thin...DIRE!!! The bed was uncomfortable, giving us both back aches - and we are campers so used to basic sleeping, surely a comfortable bed and decent linens are fundamental to a hotel?! This hotel would have got a poor rating EXCEPT for the fact that the staff were all so lovely and we did have an amazing dinner at the hotel: Nettle pannacotta followed by a wonderful tuna nicoise - all served beautifully by ? Ashek who helped with wine choice and was warm and chatty!
Good location. Nice reception area with a bar with a selection of drinks and snacks. Staff could have been friendlier. Room was nicely decorated but pretty basic for the price. Quite a constrast with the modern interior downstairs. Mattress could have been better. Flush needs to be fixed. Door not easy to open or lock.
My main issue was with the shuttle service that I booked. I had booked through the hotel, and in the email received a price quote and instructions that I would pay in the hotel. When I was in the taxi there was a fixed price on the meter that was lower than what I had been told by the hotel. Upon arrival the staff member was unaware that I was to pay in the hotel, or the amount. I said the amout that was on the meter, unsure of why there was a difference. The following morning I was told the first price again, so when I asked what the difference in price was, the only explanation I got is that was the hotel's price and had I paid in the taxi then I would have paid the lower price. I voiced my confusion about this set up, and was treated rather rudely. If the hotel is to charge a booking fee (75kr/€7.50), I think it is only fair that the customer is aware of it. I had chosen this hotel primarily because of its 'airport shuttle.' Not clear to me if that is indeed offered or not.
Needless to say when I collected my bags later that day the staff member at the reception desk had very little to say and did not offer to book me a taxi or shuttle. Also MyTaxi has fixed rates to the airport for 470kr (€48), 185kr (€19) less than what I paid at the hotel.
