Elite Eden Park is a sleek and stylish hotel overlooking Humlegården Park in Stockholm’s exclusive Östermalm district. Luxury facilities, first-class service and cool, contemporary interiors make it the perfect base for a sightseeing-packed getaway or even a romantic escape (it did nab a TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards as a top hotel in Sweden for romance). It’s got two great restaurants to try, and you’re just a stone’s throw from some of Stockholm’s best eats and bars at Stureplan, a hip and high-end square that attracts the city’s most fashionable characters.
Head south from the hotel, and you’ll reach the Strandvägen, a pretty waterfront street lined with some of Stockholm’s grandest old palaces and houses. Just along the harbor is the old town (or Gamla Stan), which is made up of Stadholmen island and three other islets, filled with winding, cobblestone streets and fascinating 13th-century architecture. When all that waterside walking piques your interest, we recommend taking a boat tour of the achingly beautiful Stockholm archipelago, or for more nautical knowledge, try the excellent Vasa ship museum – it’s home to one of the best preserved shipwrecks in the world.
How to Get There
We were very pleased with this hotel. The staff were very helpful, the room was a good size, well equipped and clean. The bathroom was quite small but had everything we needed. Breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant and offered a good selection of hot and cold food. The breakfast staff were very efficient and helpful. The hotel is located off a busy square, but opposite a park and in an area that is quiet, not far from the indoor market that has a good range of bars/restaurants open in the day/early evening.
The hotel is superbly located in central Stockholm facing the Biblioteksparken. Elegant Nordic style interior decor throughout and spacy rooms and bath, comfortable bed and well functioning internet. Rooms are quiet.
The hotel staff is wonderful and informative in general. They will go above and beyond to ensure you have accurate information should you decide to tour Stockholm. I had a single room. Unfortunately, I didn't have much of a view since single rooms don't in this hotel. However, my room was clean and comfy. The breakfast is excellent and plenty of choices. Definitely try the Bishop's Arms for a drink or a meal. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from city center or 1 subway stop from central station.
I really have nothing but good things to say. I usually stay here when traveling for business as well as when me and my wife enjoy a couple of days in the capital.
* Rooms (though prices seems to have gone up)
* Parking is never full
* Breakfast area never feels crowded (like most other central hotels in Stockholm)
* Miss Voon is excellent, both dinner and breakfast.
* Bishops is perfect for fast yet great dinner/room service
* Gym is small but completely fine. Especially since it’s rarely crowded.
This is always the first hotel in my list.
The hotel is right across the street from a lovely park, perfect for a relaxing stroll. There are plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The metro station is just a few minutes/blocks away but you can easily walk to Gamla Stan from the hotel, as we did the first morning.
-Rooms: The rooms were modern and comfortable. Ours was a smaller room with a shower on the sixth floor. We weren't in the room a lot, so we were fine with not having a large room. The shower was spacious and water temp/pressure were great. We requested a room on a higher floor after reading reviews about street noise from the bars. We had no problems with noise. Temperature controls worked well.
-Wifi: A bit slow at times, but no connection or outage problems
-Breakfast: Something for everyone from scrambled eggs and bacon to yogurt, cereal, pastries, breads, meats and cheese
-Staff: Very pleasant and helpful
Suggestion: Renting a bike from city bikes is a great way to explore the city and there are bike racks near the hotel. You buy the pass from 7-11 or Pressbyran. At the time of the review, it was 165k for 3 days.
