How to Get There

Hotel J

taken eye off the ball

The bath isn't level and bangs from side to side when you get in/out

Why cant we have the nice white fluffy towels (like in the sauna) instead of those cheap horrible, scratchy purple ones

The shower floods the rest of the bathroom after you use it causing wet feet any time you need the toilet in the next couple of hours

cupboards don't fit/hinges missing

tumbler glasses disappear never to be seen again

no bottled water ,its probably just me but im a little uneasy about filling up kettles or drinking out of bathroom taps

Great location, but needs to up it's game in some relatively little ways

An odd and,on the whole, enjoyable stay but just not quite good enough to justify how it’s positioned and the price it charges.
First, the positives. Great location, looking out in the harbour and close to the ferry boat terminal - very relaxed way of getting into central Stockholm!
Recent building has perhaps encroached on it’s position a little since I last visited but still feels off the beaten track. The fabric of the hotel feels cared for too.

The less good. No one thing is terrible in its own right but charging for a premium products sets expectations that you’ll receive, well, a premium product.

The rooms are slightly frustrating- the black out curtains are about 4” too short. Sounds trivial until you realise sunrise is around 3am and it’s bright enough in the room to read by by 330.
Our patio was being renovated and the pile of planks perhaps just unfortunate. Not sweeping the patio of the detritus just careless.
House keeping was a lucky dip - what would they change this time- and what would they wouldn’t, loo roll and cups in particular, varied each day. It was clean, it was just whether they did it at all.
We got two vouchers for a free drink from the “kitchen” area by reception - but trying to redeem them was complex. Three attempts ... always what we couldn’t do, never when we could.
Breakfast. There are actually two floors which no one tells you. Upper one full and chaotic. Bottom one empty and with a bigger selection...
Aircon. We booked via a website because we knew we’d want and it said they had. They didn’t and said not our fault it says so. Strictly true..but only when we saw someone collecting a fan and we explicitly asked did we get one. And we had to collect it ourselves - they wouldn't bring to reception. We had to put in/ collect our own bags from storage rather than they wheeled them round the corner.
What isn’t acceptable is their attitude. You know that saying nothing is too much trouble..? Everything here is too much trouble on reception. They moaned when we checked in. When we checked out. When we asked about boats. Taxis. Lack of aircon. That I couldn't claim Starwood points - yet Starwood automatically added them after.

Out of busy city

Just outside the city a calm place to relax, and enjoy the waterside.
Transfer to the city is easy by bus or ferry (included in public transport card).
Breakfast very nice in the building at the waterside.
