The Lowdown

Nature or nurture? Have a bit of both at this TripAdvisor 2016 Travelers’ Choice Award winner, one of the top ranked in Foz do Iguaçu. Recanto Cataratas Thermas Resort brings its unique approach to relaxation to exotic south Brazil, taking up more than a million square feet and housing a variety of spaces to help you unwind. Hit the game room, library, spa, bowling area and “amusement square,” or enjoy some dancing on the exclusive disco’s dance floor; for dining and drinking, pick from a wide range of restaurants and bars for laid-back, low-maintenance meals.
Natural attractions come in the form of a conservation area within the property that itself measures more than 400,000 square feet. If you wish, you can also soak in a thermal pool, or step off-site and explore the lush surrounding jungle. And in case you don’t speak Portuguese, the “Foz do Iguaçu” in Recanto’s name translates to “Iguazu Falls.” One of the New Seven Wonders of the World is less than an hour away by car, and is quite a sight to behold whatever your vacation style, with its islands, caves and crashing cascades.

Very nice hotel with abundant amenities.

We primarily checked in here to see the falls off-course.
The hotel has spacious well equiped rooms and abundant breakfast, full board is possible.
Perfect for your hikes to the falls and Paraguay and Argentina.

A good visit

We stayed for two nights as part of a tour and were nicely surprised when we arrived. The place really is nice with a large pool. Our rooms were not ready so we ate a plate of lovely king prawns at the pool bar. We were also surprised when we went to the room. It was very small with a double and a single bed crammed in. The bathroom was also tiny. All were very clean though. 4 am the second morning the pool pump room caught on fire filling the hotel with smoke and we were evacuated to the nearby conference centre where the staff did a roll call. No one was missing!! The breakfast and evening buffet were excellent and well worth the money. I would return.

New construction will be worth the wait

The new site is amazing and will be great when finished. Pool on old side and huge dining room. Food buffet was excellent and good value. New rooms are modern and efficient. Yes it waa noisy due to construction but I would say that they are trying really hard
