Wonderful Wolgan!
Reviewed 1 day ago

Amazing location, wonderful villa and total relaxation! Really enjoyed the sundowners tour and nocturnal safari. We saw 13 wombats which was the highlight of our trip! Kangaroos everywhere! Such a treat to see so many native birds and animals.

The villa is beautifully arranged and very comfy. We were at the furthest point from the homestead as we requested privacy, and it was lovely to walk up to the main building for meals. Really enjoyed the thoughtful touches such as sketch paper and pencils, generous minibar, and lovely bath salts. The double sided fire was awesome and much needed on cold mornings!

The spa was outstanding and my massage from Justine was the best I’ve ever had. The Japanese soaking bath was divine! Would go again just to visit the spa!

Food was v good, ambience of dining room at night was lovely. There are some delightful staff who are v friendly and helpful. The borderline casual/relaxed service may not be for everyone but it’s how we mainly experience service across Australia. It lacks the refinement of European service and some details were missed at breakfast and dinner ( wrong food/cutlery etc) we didn’t see a general manager/ maître present at dinner and I think it’s needed as many of the staff are inexperienced. The dinner was pleasant however most dishes needed elevating with some wow factor. In saying that the deserts were exceptional and lunch was delicious. Also the premium grill steak was great! The degustation menus on all 3 nights were unappealing ( twice baked veal tongue/ pigeon ) and not to my taste but others may have loved it.....Wine included we felt was lovely, and we really enjoyed the inclusions.

All up we had a terrific time and would definitely return if we needed some off the grid relaxation and peace! In saying that be aware it’s a family resort and there were lots there when we visited ( in school holidays, so fair enough!) it would be great for lux travellers with kids as they run a program for them , and even have a kids room off the dining area. We were lucky that all the kids there were lovely and fairly quiet ; but if you were in a villa next to a noisy family it might impact you as a couple seeking romance. It must be a difficult task for the resort to cater to everyone’s needs, and I thought it was done very well.

Some final thoughts; take good walking shoes, warm clothes and a good camera! If you have mobility issues let them know so you can stay nearer the homestead.

The main pool was way too cold ; very disappointing and couldn’t use it even though the weather was delightful and 23 degrees. No one was in the pool so not just me being picky!! Some tried and got straight out! The villa pool was better but still needed to be cranked up a couple of degrees!!

Thanks to Julianne , Marcos, Katie, Imogen , Anita and Phil who were particularly lovely 😊

We hope to return one day and would highly recommend!

Thanks so much , Zoe and Aaron

Just spend 3 nights here for my 40th! Had a fantastic time. This was our second trip to Wolgan Valley. Last time was 5 years ago.
This place is still as good as it was back then. Very relaxing, great food, drinks and exceptional service.
Will be back again.

Beautiful escape

The resort is beautiful and the scenery amazing. The rooms are incredible, with everything you could need as amenities, included in the room. It is expensive, however the food is amazing. We would have liked for standard cocktails and spirits to be included at meal time, as it is hard to drink wine and beer all dinner and lunch for 3 days!!

Unbelievably stunning resort in every way!

Wolgan Valley is not just a destination to be visited, it’s an unforgettable experience to be had. From the breathtaking views, to the stunning accomodation, to the wide range of activities, to the exquisite food, they were all second to none. But most of all it was the remarkable service which made our stay absolutely sensational. There was every effort made to ensure we felt completely taken care of at all times in our stay. We can honestly say it was the best holiday we’ve ever had. Thank you for an amazing weekend. We hope to be back again soon.
