How to Get There
We unexpectedly stayed one night here as our plane from Newark got canceled and we didn't feel like going back to the city with our carsick toddler... The location is nice for Hoboken (although a bit far from the center) and for easy ferry access to NYC. The rooms are large and comfortable, staff is friendly and the pool is a nice extra. The restaurant downstairs is nice too! The only minuses were that one elevator was under repair, which resulted in long waits to go up and down, there was no fridge in the room and we had to pay 75$ extra for a late checkout. Apart from that, everything was great!
My stay here was excellent. All staff members, Andrew, addie, ameras were such great help and very nice. Would definitely recommend staying here, view of the NYC skyline is good and walking along the Hudson river is really spectacular.
The hotel is a bit dated and one of the lifts was out of service. Very comfortable beds and helpful staff. Not a bad location with a ferry to manhatten right outside the hotel. Hoboken a 30 minute walk or you can take the bus. Great views of manhatten. I would stay there again.
Arranged for a guest room for my parents for their 50th anniversary. 2 very specific requests were made - all charges to be put on my card (my parents were not to be asked for their CC) and to have an amenity sent to their room (champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.)
A major highlight for this Hotel? Samantha, who worked with me on the amenity. She handled it swifty and professionally. Unfortunately the staff executing the delivery of the amenity delivered it to the wrong room. I was notified via email at 2am, followed by a phone call the following AM.
After speaking to the restaurant GM - who took full ownership of the mistake - we arranged complimentary breakfast for my parents, who were actually in the restaurant at the time of our conversation. He assured me he would find them and take care of them from this point on... Maybe some mimosas, etc. I told him I would appreciate whatever he felt was appropriate given the mistake made the night before.
This was not the case.
I let my parents know about the mix-up... yet they still made it all the way to the register after finishing breakfast without ever being approached by a Manager - and then had to wait at the register for the Associate to find one in order to clear up that is was in fact complimentary.
Not the overall experience we planned for our Parents.
2 hours later? I received a call... My parents CC was charged for the room, because someone at the Front Desk demanded that they would not be given a room unless they supplied a credit card and ID.
After a call to the Hotel, the Supervisor On Duty quickly reversed the charge and put it on the correct card.
Again... After taking the appropriate steps to make this evening special, this is not the experience I wanted for my Parents.
(Another positive note - the Hotel was also oversold on the room type I originally booked, so when I asked about upgrading them prior to check-in they did that complimentary, which was very nice as well.)
Gold Elite status means nothing. We have the view of a construction site. They’re stating they are overbooked (-6??) and only 1 elevator is working. Got to the elevator and one is stuck on the 6th floor. You press the button and the other door opens. Swipe your key card and choose your floor — no movement. Tried again. Stepped out of the elevator and the other one is still stuck at 6. Called front desk and they stated they will send someone over. Few minutes pass, still no one. We tried the elevator again and this time it moves. Scary! I don’t feel safe using that elevator with my kids. Of course they won’t cancel our reservation now even though they are overbooked and could use the cancellation. Does not make sense. Front desk is not the friendliest from the first phone call today up to check in. We should’ve stayed at Hyatt Regency. They upgrade your room with not much fuss and I don’t even have the status I have with Marriott. This property is dated but the room and bath were updated.
