Great stay

Ultra modern design hotel juxtaposed with a very traditional village. Looked after very well, food in both the Bistro and restaurant was very good. The staff were lovely, only slight complaint is that there were not always enough of them, particularly late afternoon in the bar and service could be slow. Unfortunately the hotel Vinoteca was shut, which was a shame for us. I was travelling with my elderly parents and staff were very accommodating and thoughtful. Great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Funky Hotel

Found this hotel on the I escape website as we find they have quirky hotels which suit what we are looking for although we do book direct. We had spent 3 nights touring the rioja region and this proved to be a great stop . The village itself has nowhere to really eat or drink but the hotel more than makes up for it with a fabulous restaurant (in my opinion a better meal than Marques de riscal) and a lovely little wine bar . Unfortunately we couldn't make use of the outside space as it rained for most of the time we were there but a good excuse to return . The rooms are huge and i believe all very different but the highlight is the food both at dinner and breakfast.

Quirky design hotel in a quaint village

The bold design of this contemporary hotel is in stark contrast to the rustic and quiet village around it, but the two compliment each other beautifully. From the main town square you can catch glimpses of the composition of cubic shapes that form the hotel rooms, while the scenic view from the hotel's rooftop gives you a great panorama of the village.

The overall decor has a bit of an industrial character, with raw steel, concrete and black paint, including the rooms, which I don't mind personally. I could have done without the colored LED lights though which give it a dated "nightclub" kind of vibe. I had a bit of a problem with my first room where there was a strong cigarette smell, despite them assuring us that the entire hotel is smoke-free. But they quickly resolved that with a new room; service was good, despite them being a bit short-handed maybe--there was usually only one person at the desk at all times.

The location was convenient to the wineries we visited: Ysios, Campo Viejo, and Marques de Riscal. As well as a short drive 20-min from the nearest town Logrono. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but did enjoy breakfast in the restaurant below, which had a great spread of good quality items--fresh squeezed OJ, homemade jams, etc. Would recommend to anyone who wants something different from the typical rustic B&B in the countryside.
